En esta edición le invitamos a que conozca las primeras acciones de los mandatarios Bernardo Arévalo y Karin Herrera.
Nacional Civil, la cual tendrá una visión en derechos humanos. Además, se reforzará al Ejército para que los guatemaltecos obtengan mayor seguridad.
Una de ellas fue la presentación del Plan de Gobierno: Trazando la ruta 2024-2028 . Durante su intervención, aseguraron que se establecieron metas en aspectos de economía, infraestructura e inversión extranjera.
También le compartimos que la vicemandataria juramentó a jefes de secretarías y direcciones e hizo un llamado a que se cumpla con los valores y principios fundamentales, demostrando un firme apoyo al pueblo guatemalteco. En la misma línea, los ministros nombraron a sus equipos con quienes deben lograr los objetivos establecidos.

A new beginning for the country In this edition, we invite you to read about the first actions of President Bernardo Arévalo and Vice President Karin Herrera. A cargo de la Secretaría contra la Violencia Sexual, Explotación y Trata de Personas (Svet), se nombró a Danissa Ramírez como titular, y a Mónica Mazariegos, subsecretaria. Herrera recomendó que se vele y garantice la protección de los derechos de la población vulnerable. Ramírez fungió como subsecretaria de la Svet en 2023, mientras que Mazariegos fue asesora y especialista de la organización ChildFund Internacional, así como consultora de M&E Junior en el Instituto Centroamericano d e E st u d i os Po l í t i cos (Incep). A Miriam Miyares Siekavizza se le nombró secretaria Particular de la Vicepresidencia de la República; mientras que a César Beltetón, director ejecutivo de la Comisión Trinacional del Plan Trifinio (CTPT), mientras que Mervin Pérez será el encargado de la Autoridad para el Manejo Sustentable del Lago Atitlán y su Entorno (Amsclae).
Ramírez was deputy secretary of SVET in 2023. Mazariegos was a consultant and specialist of ChildFund International and a consultant of M&E Junior at the Central American Institute of Political Studies (INCEP).

Un yacimiento arqueológico en Izabal le sorprenderá, pues sus grandes estructuras y el arte maya se palpan en cada paso que da. Se trata del Parque Arqueológico Quiriguá, un área protegida y Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, ubicada en Izabal, Guatemala. Guatemala, en 1972. Heredó la afinidad artística de su abuelo y su padre, rotulistas y artistas empíricos. De allí su pasión por el arte y la exigencia de ver su trabajo como un oficio y un estilo de vida, ya que ayudó y trabajó en el taller de arte familiar desde temprana edad.
Marisol Vásquez DCA Mundo Una escultura de 3.90 metros de alto se ubica en la 10ª. calle y 10ª. avenida, esquina interior, zona 1 y rinde homenaje al Hombre de Vitruvio, obra original realizada en 1490 por Leonardo Da Vinci. Esta es la creación del artista visual guatemalteco Rodrigo Álvarez, quien manifestó que fue un reto mantener las premisas anatómicas del pintor italiano para que la pieza se viera natural y sin perder su impacto visual. “El proyecto necesita del respaldo de patrocinadores que nos apoyen para llevar y mostrar la escultura en las universidades nacionales e internacionales,

Ha sido docente de pintura, dibujo y filosofía en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas, de 2018 al 2020. Expuso va rias m uest ras artísticas colectivas, realizó m u ra les, escu lt u ras y colaboraciones en actividades con entidades tanto públicas como privadas.

Strokes of life Álvarez was born in Guatemala City in 1972. He inherited art affinity from his father and grandfather, sign painters, and empirical artists. Here, he finds his passion for art and the demand to see his work as a trade and a way of life, as he helped and worked in the family art workshop from an early age. He graduated in Visual Arts at the Escuela Superior de Arte de la Universidad de San Carlos (USAC). He taught painting, drawing, and philosophy from 2018 to 2020 at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas (National School of Arts). He held several collective art exhibitions, made murals and sculptures, and collaborated in activities in both public and private entities.

Lago de Amatitlán, la casa del remo María Godoy DCA Mundo El Lago de Amatitlán se encuentra a 26 kilómetros de la ciudad de Guatemala. Este cuerpo de agua ha sido parte de la historia del remo nacional, pues no solo ha albergado cientos de regatas, sino, además, el hogar de entrenamientos de varios atletas.

Según historiadores, este deporte comenzó en la época del expresidente Jorge Ubico (1931-1944), cuando llegaron a Amatitlán cuatro embarcaciones de remo para ocho participantes. Sería a partir de 1941 cuando se realizó la primera regata en la feria de dicho municipio y donde participaron los primeros atletas, tales como: José Cofiño Valladares, Carlos Cofiño, Carlos Aguirre, Rafael Castañeda, Pablo Echeverría, entre otros. A partir de 1950, ya competían equipos de la Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala e incluso el equipo de ingeniería obtuvo una victoria para el país en el ámbito internacional, en 1962.

Lake Amatitlan, the house of rowing
Historians say this sport began during former president Jorge Ubico’ s ad m in istration (1931 – 1944) when four rowing boats reached Amatitlán for eight participants.

Lake Amatitlán is 16 miles from Guatemala City and has been part of the national paddle history. It has been home to hundreds of regattas and a training home to different athletes.

It was in 1941 when the first regatta took place during the town’s fair. The first athletes that participated were José Cofiño Valladares, Carlos Cofiño, Carlos Aguirre, Rafael Castañeda, Pablo Echeverria, and others. In 1950, teams from the state university, Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala, competed. In 1962, the team from the faculty of Engineering won at the international level.
