Con estas medidas se pretende empoderar e involucrar a los guatemaltecos para mejorar las condiciones de vida y marcar un comienzo prometedor.

En las últimas semanas, los guatemaltecos se han acercado a los Consejos Departamentales de Desarrollo para dejar su papelería y optar a los cargos de gobernador titular y suplente de su respectiva jurisdicción; esto, luego de que las autoridades invitaron a la población a que se postule al puesto o bien para que haga sus observaciones acerca de los candidatos.

Durante estos días, se realizarán sesiones extraordinarias, que concluirán el 22 de febrero, para el análisis de los perfiles de los interesados por parte de los Consejos, en los que tomarán en cuenta las observaciones y objeciones puestas por la misma ciudadanía sobre los aspirantes.

La apicultura, un mercado en crecimiento María Godoy DCA Mundo Guatemala es uno de los productores de miel y registra más de 5 mil 612 toneladas exportadas, en los últimos cinco años, lo que se traduce en 18 millones de dólares en divisas.
Para este año, el Viceministerio de Sanidad Agropecuaria y Regulaciones (Visar), del Ministerio de Agricultura, Ganadería y Alimentación (MAGA), trabaja en fortalecer la producción y exportación. En el último año el néctar creció un 18.11 por ciento, lo que lo hace un artículo emergente y con potencial. Asimismo, se está reforzando para asegurar la inocuidad del mismo para ampliar la base comercial.
Productos diferenciados La melaza nacional llega a mercados de Alemania, Suiza, Costa Rica, Austria, Honduras, Italia, Portugal, Japón, Estados Unidos y Nicaragua, por mencionar algunos. En estos países se ofrecen varios artículos diferenciados para satisfacer la demanda de mercancías naturales y sostenibles, según indica la Asociación de Exportadores de Guatemala (Agexport). Entre estos destaca la miel orgánica, cristalizada para untar o cruda, así como la producida por la Melipona beecheii, un tipo de abeja endémica de la nación y cuyo panal se cultiva dentro de árboles.

12 María Godoy DCA Mundo El baile de La Conquista se originó a mediados del siglo XVI. Relata el enfrentamiento entre españoles y el reino Kikab, rey de los k’iche’, así como los acontecimientos posteriores a la llegada de las tropas.
Danza folklórica: La Conquista
En la expresión artística pa r t i c i pa n a l red ed o r d e 20 bailarines, quienes se colocan una máscara. Los españoles emplean un traje de terciopelo rojo, al cual le colocan lentejuelas, flequillos y plumas; asimismo, en sus manos, algunos llevan espadas y chinchines. Mientras que los que representan a los mayas utilizan una máscara morena. Sus atuendos tienen imitaciones de piedras preciosas. En cada departamento los trajes sufren pequeñas variaciones.
Algo que sorprende es que los personajes forman una especie de cuadrilátero y hacen pasos de contradanza, mientras al unísono se escucha al narrador

The Conquest folkloric dance

The Dance of the Conquest was born in the middle of the XVI century. It narrates the confrontation between Spaniards and the kingdom of Kikrab, king of the K’iche’; it also illustrates the events following the arrival of the troops.
In the scene, the palace of Tekum appears, and the K’iche’ king observes. The king realizes Pedro de Alvarado and the other captains’ intentions and decides to ask for help. After, a battle takes place. Surprisingly, the characters form a quadrilateral and perform contradanza steps. At the same

In this artistic expression, around 20 dancers participate using masks. The Spaniards wear a red velvet suit, to which they add sequins, bangs, and feathers, and some carry swords and chinchines (maracas or rattles) in their hands. Those that represent the Mayans use a dark-skinned mask. It is important to emphasize that their attire may use imitation of precious stones. In each Department (territorial division), the suits have slight variations. time, in unison, the narrator tells the story of the death of the Mayan chief. Then comes the chief’s burial, symbolizing the conquerors’ triumph. Currently, representation occurs in the Departments of Retalhuleu, Baja Verapaz, Totonicapán, Huehuetenango, San Marcos, Sololá, Escuintla, Sacatepéquez and Chiquimula.

El Instituto Guatemalteco de Turismo (Inguat) anunció que la nación se integró a la Red Mundial de Destinos de Turismo Religioso. “La oportunidad que presenta el turismo religioso desempeña un papel fundamental en la promoción y preservación de la herencia cultural y espiritual de Guatemala”, manifestó el director general del Inguat, Harris Whitbeck. Folklor y pasión al ballet marcan los pasos de
Laura Morales Marisol Vásquez DCA Mundo Laura Morales Sazo es bailarina del Ballet Moderno y Folklórico Nacional de Guatemala. Es egresada de la Escuela Nacional de Danza Marcelle Bonge de Devaux y cuenta con estudios en Ciencias Jurídicas y Sociales. Durante un día de ensayos, la entrevistamos y nos describió su experiencia.
¿Qué ha significado ser integrante del ballet? Una experiencia muy bonita, un crecimiento como artista y persona. Ha sido enriquecedor lo que brinda la compañía, no solo conocer culturas de Guatemala, sino también de otros países. Aquí hay mucha riqueza cultural.

¿Cómo empezó ese amor hacia el baile?
por azares del destino participé en el grupo de la Universidad de San Carlos (Usac), donde conocí a compañeros del Ballet Moderno y Folklórico Nacional, quienes me incentivaron a incorporarme. Audicioné y entré a los 19 años. Ahí continúo hasta la fecha.
¿Qué personaje le gusta más interpretar? El tigre, del baile del Paabanc. Fue mi primer personaje y lo sigo danzando. Es de mis favoritos, pese a los nervios de interpretarlo por primera vez con una máscara durante una puesta en escena tan importante. Por último, afirmó que luego de su etapa de bailarina seguirá como maestra para transmitir sus conocimientos a las futuras generaciones.
Desde pequeña me llamaba la atención estudiar ballet; así que mi mamá me inscribió en la escuela de danza, en donde estudié a p r ox i m a d a m e n t e siete años. Después me retiré para estudiar en la universidad, pero

Marisol Vásquez DCA Mundo Laura Morales Sazo is a Modern and Folkloric National Ballet dancer Guatemalan. She graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Danza Marcelle Bonge de Devaux (Marcelle Bonge de Devaux’s National Dancing School) and has a Legal and Social Sciences degree. During rehearsals, we interviewed her, and she described her experience.
What has it meant to be part of the ballet? It was a lovely experience and growth as an artist and person. What the company offers has been enriching; it is not only to see the Guatemalan culture but also other cultures in other countries. Here, culture is abundant.

fate would have it, I participated in the Universidad de San Carlos (State University) dance group, where I met colleagues from the Modern and National Folkloric Ballet, who encouraged me to join. I auditioned and entered at the age of 19. I continue there to this day.
Which character do you like to play the most? The tiger of the Paabanc dance, because it was my first character, and I still dance it. Despite the nerves of playing, it for the first time with a mask during such an important staging, it is one of my favorites.

Descubra la riqueza marina de las aguas guatemaltecas Con la finalidad de garantizar la protección y conservación de la vida acuática y de salvaguardar la integridad de la tripulación y de los pasajeros de las embarcaciones, el país cuenta con el Reglamento para la Observación de Cetáceos en Aguas Guatemaltecas en Actividades Turísticas y Recreativas. Dicho documento establece que los navíos no pueden acercarse a más de 100 metros y deberán tener el motor apagado. Además, se cuenta con una Ley de Áreas Protegidas, Decreto 4-89, que también vela por el hábitat.

La costa pacífica de Guatemala es reconocida por la diversidad de fauna marina. El Consejo Nacional de Áreas Protegidas (Conap) documenta 33 especies de cetáceos, 4 de tortugas y 25 de aves.
El país le ofrece la oportunidad de practicar pesca deportiva del pez vela, una de las especies más rápidas del mar; dicha actividad trata de anzolar y liberar al pez según establece la Ley General de Pesca y Acuicultura, Artículo 28, lo cual se efectúa a través del anzuelo circle hook. Asimismo, se puede liberar a la lampuga, atún de aleta amarilla, pez gallo y jurel, por nombrar algunos.
De noviembre a abril de cada año, los turistas pueden realizar expediciones con la finalidad de observar ballenas, delfines, peces voladores, entre otros, pues en dicha temporada es cuando visitan las aguas nacionales para alimentarse y aparearse. FOTOs/PHOTOs: norvin Mendoza

The National Council for Protected Areas (CONAP, an acronym in Spanish) documents 33 cetaceans, four aquatic turtles, and 25 species of sea birds. From November to April of each year, tourists can go on expeditions to observe whales, dolphins, flying fish, and others since this is when they visit national waters for their feeding and mating period.
Deporte - Sport
Discover the marine richness of the Guatemalan waters than 100 meters and must have their engines turned off. In addition, there is a Protected Areas Law, Decree 4-89, which protects the habitat.
