The attention to detail at YHI Spa from entry to departure is sublime as well. The staff is friendly, and my massage was stellar. A world-class Thelasso pool is nestled up against a wall right along one of the main corridors of the property but it is so well-planned, guests walking the corridor don’t notice the spa and patrons of the spa relaxing in the waterfalls have no idea that right over the wall is a public space. Wonderful essential oils saturate the air beckoning guests to let go, while lanterns line pathways with warm candlelight glow.

Another opportunity Paradisus offers that adds to the quality of the stay is what they like to call Life Enriching Experiences which are cultural experiences. We got to roll cigars and learn first-hand from the Cuban family who made them, the history of their trade. We also took part in a tequila tasting, but there is a menu of options from sushi making, to massage lessons and tango classes. Currently the property is offering pole dancing classes to guests looking for fun and exercise. Sometimes you don’t have to look that far to find quality luxury. This one’s just a 2-hour flight away – and the only surprise you’ll get is how luxe this all-inclusive can be.
