STYLE+LEISURE EAUTY B E S N E S N O NO-N Cult classic beauty brand Kiehl’s recently opened up in The Woodlands. CEO CHRIS SALGRADO partnered with Chef Michael Cordua and the Houston Food Bank for the grand opening, and I got a chance to speak with Salgrado. Salgrado has been a Kiehl’s user for 24 years and shares that “being Kiehl’s CEO is really a dream come true.” He’s been with the brand “that did what it said and said what it did” for fourteen years and has been President for seven years. Salgrado loves that the formulas are honest. “They aren’t going to turn back time,” he continues, “I’m going to make you look as good as I can now.” Another achievement he’s proud of is that the product is not only made in the United States but it’s all eco-friendly and has been around for 163 years dating back to when Lincoln was president. I asked Salgrado to share his top five products, not an easy task to do. MIDNIGHT RECOVERY My go-to product. What I love about this is that I am an oil guy and I love the way this feels. At nighttime, two drops and your skin looks amazing. POWERFUL STRENGTH LINE REDUCING CONCENTRATE made with 10½% Vitamin C. I use it every morning; you feel it tingle. Vitamin C is one of the best ingredients you can get over the counter for diminishing fine lines. SUPER FLUID, a lightweight sunscreen. You want to do one thing for your skin to look your best, get a good sunscreen. CREAMY EYE It’s been with us since 2003. This stuff is the bomb. It’s one of these products that you slather on under your eyes. CALENDULA HERBAL EXTRACT – we still hand put the marigold petals in. It’s perfect for the typical t-zone and keeps skin totally balanced.
