FAVORITE PLACE FOR DESSERT? I don’t have a sweet tooth, but when I do, I just walk over to my Pastry Chef, and ask for a Green Tea Panna Cotta… and sometimes to-go. WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE CHEF, RESTAURANT AND DISH? Joël Robuchon, L’Atelier, Foie Gras from his restaurant in Paris.
BEST BREAKFAST? The most important meal and unfortunately, I usually skip it! BEST BRUNCH? Hugo’s – the food and atmosphere is friendly and consistent, keeps me coming back.
WHAT IS YOUR COMFORT FOOD? When I cook at home, it is always a type of stew or soup.
WHAT INGREDIENT CAN YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT IN THE KITCHEN AND WHY? Espelette… because this ingredient complements most dishes, enhancing the flavor, especially in seafood. WHAT UTENSIL CAN YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT? A sharp knife!! WHAT’S YOUR PET PEEVE? Lack of discipline, respect or professionalism. FAVORITE AFFORDABLE WINE? Chateau Ste. Michelle, Indian Wells Merlot.
DO YOU USE A RECIPE OR WING IT? Usually a combo. WHAT DO YOU SEE AS THE NEXT FOOD TREND? Latin American. AT HOME, WHAT DO YOU KEEP ON HAND TO SERVE DROP-IN GUESTS? Most likely I will have some cheeses and charcuterie… if they are lucky, I may still have a glass or two of that Merlot on hand! WHAT WOULD PEOPLE BE SURPRISED TO FIND IN YOUR HOME REFRIGERATOR? A jar of spaghetti sauce. WHAT MAGAZINE COVER, OTHER THAN 002’S, WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE FEATURED ON? Food and Wine.
FAVORITE SANDWICH Prosciutto Panini. FAVORITE TRUCK FOOD I will always and only seek out Tacos! There is a truck that is usually at Westheimer and Briargrove that I like. FAVORITE PICNIC SPOT Memorial Park. FAVORITE SPOT TO EXERCISE/RUN My apartment gym… quiet, quick and around the corner.
