The Holy Spirit is an incredible, invisible force proceeding from the Heavenly Father. It is in essence the mind and power of Yahweh, which was also bestowed upon the Son, Luke 24:49; John 15:26.

The Holy Spirit is the acting agent by which Yahweh and His Son accomplish their will. The Holy Spirit is endowed upon the baptized following their repentance and baptism into the saving Name of Yahshua the Messiah through the laying on hands of the presbytery (ministers), Acts 2:38; 5:32; 8:17; 19:6; 1Timothy 4:14; 2Timothy 1:6.

Through this power a person receives Yahweh’s strength to overcome sin, live a repentant life and is also given spiritual gifts to be used for the benefit of the Body of Messiah, 1Corinthians 12.

A person endowed with the spirit also displays fruits as listed in Galatians 5:22-23. The Holy Spirit is also given in measure, 2Corinthians 1:22, 5:5, Romans 8:23, Ephesians 1:13-14, except in Yahshua’s case, John 3:34.

The gift of the Spirit can be stirred up, 2Timothy 1:6. The Spirit can also be quenched or neglected, 1Thessalonians 5:19, Ephesians 4:30, 1Timothy 4:14. It can also be removed from an individual as found in David’s plea in Psalm 51:11.

It is the Holy Spirit dwelling in the saints that will raise them at the resurrection, as it did with Yahshua, Romans 8:1; John 6:63; 1Corinthians 6:14; 2Corinthians 3:6, 1Peter 3:18.

The Holy Spirit is equated with Yahweh Himself, 2Corinthians 3:17, and to subvert His Spirit through a total falling away carries the worst consequence. Complete rejection of Yahweh means to be rejected by Him in return.

“But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin” (Mark 3:29, NIV).

Blasphemy against the Spirit is “perhaps a complete denial of the Truth once the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit is witnessed” (RSB).
