Edi t orsLetter Editors Letter Welcome to our Christmas/New Year Edition of Your Child in Whittlesea, I believe December really is a most exciting and magical month of the year - with all the child like wonder, excitement and anticipation. If only it wasn’t also the most hectic time of the year! We have shopping to do, parties and get together’s to attend, it all just becomes a little crazy. I love watching the excitement building in my children watching all the lights and decorations going up around the area, visiting Santa and the School Christmas Carols. As I sit here I find myself looking back over the year 2021 - and I’m fondly remembering the fun family moments, baking with my children, playing family games, working together to finish a jigsaw puzzle, watching family movies and going for walks and bike rides around the local neighbourhood. I find that I am pushing the not so nice memories for a second year away. I look forward to 2022 keeping some of the finer moments and making many new memories outside of Lockdown. However, I know that I have much to be grateful for as this year comes to a close. The magazine this month has some great reading, on page 8 Aussie Christmas Tips. Page 18 has an interesting article, about Children and Water Safety. Plus we have some great ides for surviving holiday boredom on page 14 and find out how to make Christams Coconut Ice for Santa, on page 26. Christmas is such a wonderfully special time of year for children! Our Kids Corner, page 23 has an Elf colouring in picture. Why not enjoy some quality family time watching the local Whittlesea Council Christmas Carols for more details visit What’s On page 24. Don’t forget Summer is a fantastic time to get out and enjoy the awesome weather and visit our local parks and bush walking tracks. I hope you enjoy reading our December/January magazine.
