OVERVIEW

The vision of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) is to be a world-class institution that promotes labour market stability, social justice and job security. The CCMA: conciliates workplace disputes; arbitrates disputes that remain unresolved after conciliation; facilitates the establishment of workplace forums and statutory councils; compiles and publishes information and statistics about its activities; and considers applications for accreditation and subsidy from bargaining councils and private agencies. The CCMA may: supervise ballots for unions and employer organisations; and give training and advice on the establishment of collective bargaining structures, workplace restructuring, consultation processes, termination of employment, employment equity programmes, and dispute prevention.

The mission of the Compensation Fund is to provide efficient, quality, client-centric and accessible Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) services; sustain financial viability; and be an organisation that takes care of the needs of its staff to ensure effective service delivery.
