| Words by design WORDS by DESIGN offers a range of services to individual and corporate clients, as well as to the printing and publishing industry. In a digital age, authors wish to publish their own books; families seek to research and write the history of their ancestors; businesses see the marketing significance of commissioning their corporate history; and publishers use freelance experts in all the many varied stages of publishing.
At WORDS by DESIGN we have the necessary experience and knowledge to help with these and many other projects. Rigorous research using the best academic skills and facilities is essential to any writing project. Whether it is a family history, a corporate biography, or another more specific writing project, our original research uses not only the best internet resources, but also internationally renowned libraries in Oxford and around the UK.
| Writing Research and ideas have to be turned into a text. Some clients find that they have the vision but perhaps lack the skills to turn their ideas into a narrative. Individuals may have their memories, but need help writing their life story. Corporations know their business, but they need someone to turn those facts into a text.

| editing Many clients have already written their book with great enthusiasm and dedication, and so are only a few steps away from publication. A careful editor’s eye can look at the detail (crossing each ‘t’ and dotting every ‘i’, the proof-reader’s job) and also the bigger picture by offering constructive criticism on structure and content (the editor’s job). What a truly delightful surprise to find a copy of A Very Uncommon Woman waiting for me yesterday. didn't they do a good job on the production! it's a very handsome book with plenty of excellent photos and great stories, too. i found myself feeling very nostalgic reading about people i had known so well, seeing their pictures again, and reading stories i hadn’t known.
