A este Cuarto Domingo de Cuaresma, también se le llama domingo Laetare. Esa palabra en latín significa “alégrense”. La antífona de entrada al principio de la Misa de hoy (tomada de Isaías 66, 10) comienza con un alégrate Jerusalén. Ya estamos a casi mitad de la Cuaresma y tenemos razón para tener esperanza y alegría. Los buenos amigos son importantes; pues nos ayudan, están con nosotros, hacen los tiempos difíciles llevaderos. La historia del sufrimiento de Jesús incluye a personas que lo ayudaron. Cuando Jesús estaba tembloroso bajo el peso de la cruz, Simón de Cirene le ayudó a cargar la cruz. Con su velo, Verónica limpió la cara polvosa, sudorosa y ensangrentada de Jesús. Algunas mujeres seguían y observaban a Jesús durante el recorrido. Él sintió su ternura y apoyo e intentó consolarlas pese a su propio sufrimiento. Todos estos ayudantes son recordados en el Viacrucis: V estación – Simón, VI estación – Verónica, VIII estación – las mujeres de Jerusalén. ¿Cómo pueden estas personas ser nuestros compañeros? Cuando vemos a nuestros amigos en alguna necesidad, podemos intentar ser como Simón y les ayudamos a llevar sus cargas. Podemos ser como Verónica y hacerlos sentir mejor y más confortables. Podemos ser como las mujeres de Jerusalén; incluso si no podemos solucionar los problemas de nuestros amigos, podemos compartir su carga de tristeza para que sepan que no están solos. En un día esta semana, ve a visitar a tu parroquia y encuentra en el Viacrucis estas tres estaciones. Frente a cada una de ellas, de pie haz una oración. Piensa en tus amigos que puedan necesitar ayuda.
