How to Purchase a Boat Permit

Upload all documentation online at recreationliveshere.com/ boating:

• Proof of residency in Windsor (Town of Windsor utility bill, property tax or lease agreement)

• Driver’s License

• Current Boat Registration (motorized and sailboats)

• Proof of Insurance (motorized)

*Motorized watercraft must have liability coverage with minimum limits of $300,000 for bodily injury and property damage. One permit per craft.

Once your documentation is approved you will be contacted for payment. Paper copies of documentation will not be accepted.

Motorized Boating

Motorized permit holders can be scheduled on the lake on motorized days on a first come, first served basis. Daily and annual permit holders must call 970-674-3500 to request their time and day of the week to reserve a spot on the lake no earlier than Monday of that week. Motorized boating will not be allowed on the 4th of July. No jet skis allowed.

1/2 Day: $20 Residents $35 Non-Residents

Annual: $500 (Max 20 sold - beginning 5/8/23)

Days: W, F, Sa, Su

Dates: May 27 – Aug 13 and Aug 19 – Sep 17 (Sa, Su only)

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Non-Motorized Boating

All crafts outside of the swim beach must have a current Town of Windsor Boating Permit to use the lake. One permit per craft is required. From May 27th – Aug 13th non-motorized boats can only be on the lake during the times listed below. After Aug 13th non-motorized boats can be on the lake year-round from sunrise to sunset as long as ice is not present.

All Day: $10 Resident / $15 Non-Resident

Annual: $50 Resident / $65 Non-Resident

Days: Su, Mon, Tu, Th, Sa

Dates: May 27 – Aug 13, Aug 19 – Sep 17 (Sa, Su) shared with motorized boaters

Time: Daylight hours

Boat Rentals

Kayak, canoe, paddle board, CORCL and aqua trike rentals are available at Windsor Lake. Lifejackets are required for all participants and will be provided. Children 9 and under must be accompanied by a responsible guardian 16 years or older. SUP Boards: one person per board, must be 12+ to rent. Anyone 18 years and under must have their legal guardian sign the waiver before participating.

All other watercrafts: $10 for 30 minutes

Rentals: $10 for 30 minutes

Fishing

Fishing is allowed on Windsor Lake year-round when ice is not present. Must have a valid fishing license. For information on rules and regulations or fishing licenses, call 1-800-244-5613 or visit wildlife.state.co.us

Windsor Lake is generally stocked with Yellow Perch Fingerling, Bluegill, Channel Catfish and Trout.

Night fishing is allowed from the south end of the parking lot on Highway 257 north to the inlet bridge of the lake only. Each fisherman must have a line in the water that is being attended.

• Take time to enjoy a day at the beach!

• Swimming is permitted within areas designated by ropes and buoys only.

• Park rules and regulations apply.

• All children 9 and under must be accompanied by a responsible guardian 16 years or older.

• Swim AT YOUR OWN RISK!

• NO Lifeguard on Duty!

Eastman Park River Experience

Are you ready for a splish-splash good time? Located off of 7th Street and Eastman Park Drive north of the playground, shelter, skatepark and soccer fields is a local river adventure unlike anything else in the Town of Windsor called the Eastman Park River Experience. The Eastman Park River Experience features a river-mile devoted to local kayaking, canoeing, tubing and water play.

This outdoor experience features a dedicated float launch and take out area, a scenic river plaza that provides river access for general water enjoyment, picturesque views of the Cache la Poudre River and Longs Peak and an amazing new hangout spot.

Rentals are available at the concessions building located by the bathrooms.

Single Tube Rentals: $5/day

Hours: Sunday - Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. through Sep 3rd
