EXCITING NEW VENUE,
LIVING WELL CHURCH, ROTORUA
3rd - 6th June
QB16 is moving to a new exciting venue in Rotorua, Living Well Church. Living Well enables us to house the QB Conference under one roof, with seminars, children’s program and main sessions (the church is awesome). The church also has an outdoor field and an indoor basketball court so bring your sports gear and challenge another youth group. We are still using Keswick Camp and those staying there will have accommodation and food. We are also using Four Canoes in the city where you will need to provide your own food.
There’s a couple of new innovations to the program: 1. Carey Baptist College is sponsoring lunch for everyone on the Saturday and we’re doing something special with it so make sure your team makes the time. 2. We are starting after lunch on Sunday so you can sleep in, have a team time, go to the luge or anything your team likes. We are also really pleased and privileged to have two stunning, world class speakers this year, Kenda Creasy Dean and Tim Hawkins. We can’t wait to see you all in Rotorua this year.

ary Grut has been National Team Leader for BYM for four years prior to that he was National Manager for BYM for two years, Gary has been in youth ministry since 1987 spending the largest part of that time at Titirangi Baptist for 15 years as Associate Pastor looking after the youth ministry. Gary is passionate about leadership development and understands that a strong youth ministry in a local church is essential to kingdom growth. Gary loves golf and spent 20 years playing professionally in Asia and the Pacific, he is married to Sarah and is the proud father of four young men.
enda Creasy Dean is a Methodist Pastor and Professor of Youth, Church and Culture at Princeton Theological Seminary. She is the author of many books on youth and the church, including “Almost Christian: What the Faith of Our Teenagers is Telling the Church”. Kenda served as a Youth Pastor and campus Ministe in suburban Washington, DC before her doctorate at Princeton Seminary. Along with Mark DeVries, she founded Ministry Incubators, Inc., a consulting and teaching organization that supports missional innovation and entrepreneurship.
osh has been involved in youth ministry since 2008. Starting out as a 24-7 Youth Worker and intern at Whangaparaoa Baptist, and in 2009 he became their Youth Pastor. Josh studied part time to achieve his degree in applied theology. He has worked in amongst youth at Whangaparaoa college for 8 years and has a passion to see people come to know Jesus in an authentic way which sees them transformed by His message of LIFE. Josh is an avid sports fan and supports any sport where N.Z. is playing but especially loves rugby league, golf and cycling. His dream is to be a youth-pastor until he dies because it’s the best job in the world and swears he’s never going to grow up.

He is an international speaker and presenter with over 30 years of experience. He is one of the leading generational coaches in Australia. He has trained hundreds of young leaders, and developed many in the art of public speaking. He has a passion for raising up leadership and helping people to fulfil their potential. He is the author of many books and in great demand for businesses and conventions, as well as schools, community groups and churches. He now lives in South Africa and is working with the Hillsong Capetown church plant.

KENDA CREASY DEAN Kenda Creasy Dean is a leading theologian and voice in the issues facing the faith development of young people. She is a Youth Pastor, author of many books and Professor at Princeton Seminary. Her extensive experience, research and writing is focused on, “How do we help young people to develop a deep relationship with Jesus that it engages with the whole of their lives?” This course will explore the process of adolescent development and its complexities, and consider how a growing sense of spirituality might be nurtured during adolescence. The spiritual formation of adolescents, research on the effectiveness of current models, and key practices that contribute to spiritual formation in young people will be explored.
