THE DELLS

Waterpark Capital of the World®

MAKE A SPLASH IN THE DELLS!

Known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World®”, the Dells region is comprised of the city of Wisconsin Dells and the nearby village of Lake Delton along the banks of the Wisconsin River. Though small in scale, this area is mighty in heart and rich in history.

The landscape of the area has attracted tourists since the mid 1850s, but it wasn’t until the late 1970s when Noah’s Ark Waterpark opened in Lake Delton that the Dells became the waterpark mecca we know it as today. Other outdoor amusement parks and waterparks followed, soon making the area the fulfilled travel destination. In 2005, the community officially became known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World®”.

Other area attractions include boat tours, zip lining, golf and mini-golf, go-kart tracks, water sports, and horseback riding. Since 1946, visitors have enjoyed rides on the famous DUKW vehicles called “ducks” which take riders on a fun adventure by land and water as they splash into the Wisconsin River and Lake Delton, as well as traversing miles of scenic wilderness trails. With more than 8,000 hotel rooms and 3,200 campsites, there is an accommodation in the Dells for everyone! Waterpark resorts like the Kalahari Resort, Wilderness Resort, Great Wolf Lodge, and Chula Vista Resort are extremely popular for families visiting the area. Classic motels and B&Bs are also popular with visitors. Outdoor enthusiasts can choose from a variety of tent, RV, or cabin site rentals.

The fun doesn’t stop when summer ends in the Dells! As home to some of the largest indoor waterparks, guests are invited to participate in scheduled activities for children and adults, enjoy spa services, play a round of golf, and dine at an array of casual and fine dining establishments located at each resort. From toddlers to teens, everyone will have the experience of their dreams at one of the great lodging properties in the area.
