C MPASS Forbes wrote an article that could very well scare husbands and fathers out of their collective wits. Forbes reported on a yearly survey by Salary.com that attempts to put a fair market salary on the average Mom’s work. First, they broke down motherly duties into ten categories: Day Care Center Teacher, CEO, Psychologist, Cook, Housekeeper, Laundry Machine Operator, Computer Operator, Facilities Manager, Janitor and Van Driver. Then they studied how many hours moms work in those categories and what the family would have to pay for outsourcing that duty. According to the 2012 survey, they determined the following:

The average stay-at-home mom should make an annual salary of $112,962 (based on a 40-hour per week base pay plus 54.7 hours a week of overtime).

HEAD USHER Roy Silver

The average working mom should make an annual salary (just for her “mom” role) of $66,969 (based on 40-hour of mothering duties and 17.9 overtime hours per week).

Don’t be too threatened Dad. A working Dad who helps at home would, according to Salary.com be worth an annual stipend of $36,757. Bottom line: We’re better together. Neither Mom nor Dad should be thinking of going on strike for better wages. The real value of Mom and Dad is spiritual. Children need more than ever to have parents who know how to pray. Children need parents who more than ever know how to trust God. Children need more than ever parents who really know God and walk with God in faith. Children more than ever need parents who have the inner fortitude to challenge the times, to defy the godlessness of the times and to stubbornly build their lives, their marriages, their families and every portion of their lives around a vital, Holy Spirit empowered walk with God. God Bless Moms who walk with God.
