CLASSES OF CRAFTSMANSHIP IN VENICE Traveling people increasingly seeking direct experience of everyday life of the places they visit, and one of the best ways to understand the local culture is by learning the techniques of handmade crafts. That's why we propose mini courses or short lessons in order to learn the basics of glass art and the creation of Venetian masks.
Thanks to these classes you will have the opportunity to experience first hand two of the most ancient Venetian artisan traditions, entering then literally in laboratories and workshops, and directly experiencing what others just look from outside!
The workshop of glass is designed not only to learn the technique, but also to allow you to create something unique; in fact you will be individually followed by a master glassmaker, a Senegalese became Venetian for love and passion, in the creation of one or more beads of colored glass paste, depending on the time you want to dedicate. Reprising a role of a glass master, you will have the chance to freely express your creativity inspire you to a thousand colors and a thousand shapes that nature provides, giving birth to a high quality product with your hands! During the workshop you will also be entertained with a digression on the history of glass art in general and some reference, specifically to African culture. Eventually you can, of course, take home all products you created during this activity really open to everyone. You can participate in a simple lesson of an hour or two, or for a complete course of several days.
As it regards the masks you can participate in a theoretical demonstration on how born the handicraft Mask, divided into: - historiography of the mask ; - explanation of the various stages of the implementation of the handicraft mask ; - presentation of the masks belonging to the tradition of the Carnival of Venice and Commedia dell'Arte
Or you can participate in a real practical workshops, lasting 2 hours, about decorating the mask, which includes: - a brief presentation of how does the handicraft mask born - the performance of the decoration on the mask selected from a variety of traditional and fancy masks previously prepared (by classical Bauta to the Butterfly, the Lady and Pinocchio, the Zanni and the Jolly ...) with basic colors, colors in relief, trimmings and assorted jewelery, feathers, ribbons and / or sticks.
