APSU Chi-Omega Cornhole Tournament

Austin Peay State University’s Chi Omega Sorority recently hosted a cornhole tournament at the University’s Foy Center to benefit the Make- A-Wish Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on the intramural field, but heavy rain forced organizers to move the festivities inside. Catherine Miner, Chi Omega’s Director of Philanthropy and Community Service, spoke about the event.

“We had 26 teams signed up for our cornhole tournament today,” Miner said. “And a lot of great sponsors. We don’t have a total yet, but I think we have raised at least $3,000 here today. Based on all that is going on with the pandemic, we didn’t really set a specific goal. We’re just happy with the turnout we had, and that we were able to safely hold an event.”

“The funds raised today, as with all our fundraisers throughout the year, will benefit Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee.”

This year’s top finishers were: Preston Bostain and Zach Beerman - 1st Place, Troy and Logan Prairie - 2nd Place, and Trina Coble and Kyle Ranney - 3rd Place.
