FCSC V.I.C.E. NIGHT

Story & Photography by Tony Centonze Fort Campbell Spouses’ Club recently hosted its 38th annual V.I.C.E. Night at Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, with hundreds in attendance, and great support from presenting sponsors Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel, and F&M Bank.

This year’s theme was Havana. Tables were set for almost 400 guests, who were dressed in colorful Cuban attire. The evening was dedicated to Valerie Hunter-Kelly, “Our dear friend and generous supporter…We will always hold her dear in our heart and extend our love to her family.”

Doors opened at 5:30, and the silent auction began, featuring 130 baskets and 10 works of art, all donated and available to the highest bidder. The live auction featured a variety of items, ranging from a “Morning are for Mimosas” package: everything you need for a champagne brunch, including a refurbished vintage table, or an outdoor theater package, to a master distiller day, an ultimate scuba experience, or adventure travel packages to South Africa, Argentina or New Zealand.

“… this event simultaneously raises funds that support both our military and local communities,” FCSC President Crystal Garcia said. “The generous contributions made to this event will be distributed as scholarships and other financial grants throughout our community and beyond.

“I pray you may leave this evening knowing that somewhere, somehow, you have made a difference in the life of another.”
