Montgomery County Veterans Coalition hosted its annual Headhunters Ball at The Ruby Cora Wedding and Event Center. This year’s costume party was themed Area 51.

As guests entered this year’s Galactic Gala they were transported to an Area 51 laboratory complete with themed decor by Rochelle White Realtor ® at Reliant Realty and MCVC Fundraising Chair. The alien crash site even included an alien autopsy cake by the amazing team at The Peanut Butter Sucker.

MCVC is an umbrella organization that brings services together to help veterans in every area of their life. “No one is ever turned away,” says Sherry Pickering, MCVC Executive Director. “We guide them to the help they need.”

This program offers an opportunity for community members to showcase their strong ties and dedication to serving our local veteran community.

Why should you support MCVC? As soldiers exit Ft. Campbell, our area continues to grow, not only in our veteran numbers, but our disabled veteran numbers.

Montgomery County has the 2nd largest veteran population in the state. Montgomery County has the largest population of 100% disabled veterans. Future veteran population projections show our county having the largest veteran population within the decade. As our veteran community grows, the burden on the Veterans Coalition increases to ensure:

• Gaps in services are eliminated to reduce the risk of veteran suicide. • A complete flow of information is established to increase collaboration, improve access to resources, and reduce duplication of services. • Advocating for our population so that veteran community issues are identified and solutions are created that improve the quality of life for veterans and their families.
