Gender Stereotypes

I chose this topic because we all are daily influenced - positively or negatively - by stereotypes. I am interested in the potential of graphic design to visualize sociological and psychological areas; I believe that, although we may be unable to resolve the problem, at least, as Bruno Munari says, we can publicise it, as knowing a problem is the first vital step towards its solution. I am well aware of the complex nature of the field of stereotypes, and with this project I aim not to provide any conclusions to this issue, nor to break stereotypes completely. As a graphic designer I merely want to demonstrate an alternative approach to this topic and to emphasise my point of view concerning gender equality. My hope is that others will be as intrigued and stimulated by the book as I found myself to be during the research, writing and designing of it.
