THE MISSION OF TRINITY WESTERN UNIVERSITY "As an arm of the Church, to develop godly Christian leaders: positive, goal-oriented university graduates with thoroughly Christian minds; growing disciples of Jesus Christ who glorify God through fulfilling the Great Commission, serving God and people in the various marketplaces of life."
Since our first days in 1962, Trinity Western has held a unique vision for delivering an academically excellent liberal arts and sciences education within the context of a Christ-centerd community.
What we are most proud of is our diverse alumni community—who, in all walks of life, are the embodiment of our mission, as they positively impact the lives and communities they serve.
We have grown to become the largest faithbased university in Canada and one of North America’s premier Christian universities, offering a full range of undergraduate degrees (87) and graduate degrees (19), as well as professional schools in business, education, human kinetics, nursing and the arts, media and culture.
We are driven by a deep desire to equip you to find and fulfill your purpose, by helping you discover your passion and develop it into a profession. So you too can live a fulfilling life of positive impact and meaning.

“I learn from students and they learn from me. It’s great to watch them grow and develop. I love having an impact on their lives because I know they’re going to have an impact on other people’s lives. It has an exponential effect.” Blair Whitmarsh, Ph.D. Dean and Professor, School of Human Kinetics
“The purpose of a university education is to question and to think. But to be able to do that within a faith structure, in a supportive environment, is very empowering for students.” Holly Faith Nelson, Ph.D. Department Chair and Professor, English

ALUMNI FEATURE
WHERE WILL YOUR JOURNEY LEAD?
“I see Christians critiquing culture from the bleachers. I love being in the thick of things, being called to go into those dark places that don’t have Jesus. We shouldn’t be scared of doing that.” Scott Forsyth (’14) Choreographer Vancouver, BC
Scott Forsyth has become a force of influence in the world of dance choreography. He’s been featured on big name TV shows (World of Dance, America’s Got Talent), worked with a variety of celebrities, taught in countries around the world and been nominated for several awards. With hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, the 2018 Alumni Achievement Award winner feels an extra measure of responsibility in how he presents himself. “My education at TWU has helped me navigate through the gray areas in witnessing to those around me,” he says. “How I do business can have a lasting impact on those around me. As leaders, we need to come together, use our gifts well and trust that God will provide opportunities for us to share our faith.”

“I checked out other schools where you’re just one person in a hive. The small class sizes at TWU mean you can talk to a professor without having to schedule it in advance. I’m also grateful for their multi-disciplinary and liberal arts mandate—which helped when I had to write professional documents for grant submissions or come up with tentative legal agreements in launching the video game.” Kevin Harwood Creative Director & Producer, “The Station” video game BBA (’13)
“At Trinity Western, I had the opportunity to learn the art of nursing in an environment that recognizes people and patients as more than merely physical beings. I was supported and encouraged to pursue my passions for both nursing and global health and given a solid foundation on which to base my nursing career and vocation.” Kalisse Barwich Registered Nurse MSN (’17)
