"It is my hope and prayer that we can create a culture that builds strong individuals of character. Programs will win and they will lose, but if we can make sure that our focus always remains on building individuals of character, we will win no matter how the team performs each season." head coach ryan hofer

WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM The women’s volleyball program at Trinity Western University enables student-athletes to become Complete Champions in every area of their lives. While the team has a winning pedigree on the court, having captured three conference championships and one national championship, the team’s culture is driven by a desire to develop holistically, allowing our athletes to grow academically, spiritually, personally, and as leaders. Through our truly unique Complete Champion Approach™, our athletes flourish on and off the court as they establish a foundation for pursuing their professional dreams upon graduation, be it playing volleyball or beyond. Student athlete tutors, mental health advisors, team chaplains, and a group of dedicated professors will all combine to give you the unique educational experience in the country.
While athletes study and compete here at TWU, we encourage them to discover more about who they are and who they want to become—how they can bring out the best in themselves and in those around them. When players graduate and move on and embark on the next chapters of life, they look for ways to serve and offer strong leadership in any community they find themselves in. head coach ryan hofer

COMPLETE CHAMPION APPROACH The model we have chosen to help us realize our mission, live our values, and work together as a team is called the Complete Champion Approach™ (CCA). While we are committed to winning on the court and field, we are equally concerned for the development of our student athletes to become complete people and champions in all areas of their lives. Most importantly, Spartan athletics is defined by our cornerstone of Spiritual Development that is foundational to the other four aspects of the CCA: Academic Development, Athletic Development, Leadership Development, and Personal Development. 5

“I want TWU Women’s Volleyball to be a place where goals and dreams are formed and lived out. Here we prepare for the future through the relationships we build in the present, where talents and gifts are discovered and put into practice, where adversity is embracedas opportunity, and where the habits we form help guide and direct our decisions.” head coach ryan hofer

ALUMNI PERSPECTIVES
Being a Spartan is more than being an athlete; it is like registering for a course on personal and professional character development. I am grateful for the experience to have had a community of coaches speaking into my life and helping develop the discipline and drive we needed to win a National Championship. I leverage the implementation of these skills each and every day in the success of my business and personal life. kristen moncks

Winning a championship is just one part of the goal as a Spartan. The other and more important goal is developing lifelong attributes of character and class. My experience as a Spartan has moulded me into the person and player that I am today – one that continues to pursue excellence, on and off the court, and the realization that championships are won through the attention to detail in training. alicia perrin
