Goa is the smallest state in India. And one of the tourism in India, Goa remains one of the favorite tourist destination for millions across the globe. Bordered by the Arabian Sea on its west, Goa is blessed in terms of topographical beauty. The state of Goa is divided into two districts North Goa and South Goa its neighbouring states Maharastra and Karnataka.

Goa is located on the South Western part of India. It is the smallest state in India Since Goa lies in the tropical zone and is also bordered by the Arabian Sea on the West It was in 1962 that Goa attained freedom from the Portuguese and in 1987 it was pronounced an independent state in India.

Panjim is the state capital of Goa and is popularly known as the seat of the Government. Panjim is located on the south bank of the wide Mandovi River and is one of India’s smallest state capitals. It is the place where the first medical school of India was established. The Goa Medical College established in 1842 was also one of the oldest medical colleges in Asia, built by the Portuguese.

There is a church in the village of Oxel known as the Our Lady of Sea church that was built in 1899. The people of Oxel celebrate many Christian festivals such as the Sao Joao feast that is celebrated on 24th June, then on 29th June the Sangodd and also the church feast. The Hindus in the village of Oxel also celebrate their various festivals such as in December in the Zetrapal temple they celebrate the zatra along with the dancers of the temple, they also celebrate Shigmo and in December, February, May and August they also celebrate the Kalika Temple Zatra.

Vasco Da Gama : VASCO-DA-GAMA is a city in the state of Goa on the west coast of India. It is named after the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama. It is also the headquarters of the Mormugao taluka. 30 kilometers (19mi) from Panjim, Goa’s capital, and about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Dabolim Airport

PONDA : It is known as Fonda located in north goa.Ponda lies 29 kilometres (18mi) southeast of Panaji, the capital of Goa.

Mapusa : MAPUSA is a town in North Goa. It is situated 13km north of the capital Panaji. The town is the headquarters of Bardez Taluka. It is located on the main highway NH-17, linking Mumbai to Kochi. In Portuguese the town’s name is spelt Mapuca.

Margoan : MARGAO Margao is the second largest city by population, and the commercial and cultural capital of the Indian state of Goa. Margão is located approximately 33 kilometres (21mi) from the capital Panjim, and 27 kilometres (17mi) fromVasco da Gama.

Goa has daily flights, to and fro, from many cities including New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Cochin.
