LIFELINES

“An old Irish proverb says, ‘It is in the shelter of each other that the people live.’ Indeed, we are created to depend upon one another and walk together in suffering. But when family members or friends approach life's end, we may not know how best to ‘shelter’ them. Here are some concrete ways we can compassionately care for them: usccb.org/end-of-life-care.”

Deacon’s NOTE

We take extra care of the things we own. But do we take care of the people we love? Do we love them the way they should be loved? Do I know the dangers that are out there? Have I planted a vineyard and invested serious money in some fer le soil only to neglect the type of workers I have hired? This happens in our families. It also happens in our schools.

What plants am I growing? We all want to be happy. This should be the fruit of all our labors! But am I s ll spreading manure on plants that I know will never produce happiness? Do I s ll believe that my career or my possessions will make me happy? We should know be$er by now.

Let’s work for the Father, plan ng His seed, yielding His produce, and bathing in His Son!

God Bless. Deacon Ron Maida
