Upper School Student Engagement Opportunities In keeping with our strategic plan, Compass2022, Steward continues to build on our opportunities for the school and our students to engage with the Richmond community. From merit scholarships to unique, hands-on learning opportunities, Steward’s offerings stand out among Richmond-area independent schools.

FINANCIAL AWARDS AND AFFORDABILLITY

HANDS-ON LEARNING

Debbie Robson Merit Scholarship

Minimester

Four years of full Upper School tuition to an outstanding rising ninth grader who is new to Steward. Robson Scholars will be invited to join the Leadership Program.

For a week every spring, freshmen-juniors travel together or intern. Seniors work on their capstone senior projects.

Impact Scholars

Entrepreneurship Program

$10,000 scholarship awarded to two outstanding current students for use in Steward’s Upper School. Impact Scholars will be invited to join the Leadership Program.

Academic and real-world projects are led by Steward faculty partnered with area business leaders. Participants can earn a diploma credential.

UPPER SCHOOL

Student Engagement Merit Scholarships Steward offers multiple merit grants of up to $5,000 each per year for outstanding students entering Steward for the first time in ninth-eleventh grades.

Variable Tuition With a $2.75 million annual budget, this program customizes tuition based on what individual families can afford. Can be paired with Merit and Impact Scholarships.

OPPORTUNITIES

Leadership Program A selective 2-3 year program to sequence leadership studies in the classroom, in the community, and via a student-initiated project in the junior year.

Service Learning Students choose their opportunities. This graduation requirement is at the heart of our curriculum.
