As the Texas Adventist Book Center (ABC) manager, I genuinely believe in the ministry of the printed word. It is amazing how God can use an author, a publisher and the ABC to deliver an important message to His children.

Our mission is to provide Seventh-day Adventist Church members with truth-filled books for their spiritual growth and literature to share with others. In addition to books and periodicals, the Texas ABC has one of the largest selections of health foods in the Southwestern Union Conference, which includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. We enjoy helping customers find what they need to stay healthy and live for God.

Did you know that the Texas ABC is the only ABC within the Southwestern Union?

That’s why the Direct to You program—or D2U, as we call it—was created. It enables us to personally deliver products to our sister conferences on a regularly scheduled basis.

We also create displays at camp meetings, men’s and women’s retreats, constituency sessions, ministries conventions, worker and teacher meetings and marriage retreats in English and Spanish. Our staff meets people wherever they are to get God’s Word out.

As more and more resources are available online only, we are grateful for the support of our Texas Conference family. When COVID-19 stopped everything in 2020, the Texas ABC remained open. We simply adopted new methods to care for our customers with a limited staff. Even though sales were down a bit during that time, our faithful members continued their evangelistic efforts. We were even able to help a customer in California who needed a massive quantity of The Great Controversy books for sharing and outreach. It was an answer to prayer for us to find the amount she needed to share with others.

With annual sales of just over $2 million in 2021, by the end of 2022, we saw a $236,209 increase in sales compared to the preceding year. Again, this rebound was due to the faithfulness of our Southwestern Union Conference family, who feed themselves physically and spiritually through the Texas ABC and who share the good news with others.

If you appreciate the continued services by your Texas ABC, please remember us for all your book, periodical and health food needs. As the expression goes, “If you don’t use it, you will lose it.”

Since several ABCs had to close in recent years, their customers were forced to either go without or find another source for their purchases. For your convenience, we maintain three websites that share events, provide updates on the D2U delivery schedule and allow you to shop at home: ABCKeene.com, ABCKeene. org and AdventistBookCenter. com. You can also order by calling our toll-free number at 800.333.1844.

We look forward to assisting you soon. If you are in Keene, Texas, please come by the store on Old Betsy Road. We are just down from the Southwestern Adventist University campus and would love to see you.

Thank YOU for supporting your Texas ABC.
