Two Men Approach a Crossroads Poem by Milo Koenig

Two men approach a crossroads. They are brothers in bond. Through the years, of each other They have grown quite fond. “Farewell,” they say, “I will see you on the other side.” They share a laugh, each with a Cheerful gleam in his eye. The first will take the shining path, A trail of glittering gold. The second will take the silver path, Into the woods of old. But gleaming bricks will crumble And the trail will turn to dust For even gold and silver Eventually will rust.
