Taking Root Design

Taking Root Design (TRD) is a landscape design and planning practice located in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts. TRD offers services for a wide range of clients, including residential, commercial, civic and institutional. TRD is committed to sustainability through education and finding solutions that integrate client and ecological functions and needs. Kristin Thomas, sole proprietor, has an extensive background in landscape design and horticulture. Kristin received her M. A. in Sustainable Landscape Planning and Design from the Conway School of Landscape Design and her B.S. from the School of Natural Resources at the University of Vermont. She has designed landscapes throughout Boston, the Berkshires, the Pioneer Valley, and Burlington, Vermont. Kristin has diverse plant knowledge of native and ornamental species and a keen eye for creating harmonious landscapes. Writing, teaching, and graphic design are included in her expertise.
