No Load Out Till Sale is Completed
There are several customs and traditions in our culture that we automatically attend and celebrate each year; Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and...the Keystone Klassic. Now in its twenty seventh year, the first Saturday in December for many of us we know exactly where we will be. Literally hundreds of consignment sales have come and gone in the past twenty seven years; so one might ask how has the Keystone survived longer than any other sale in the Country? It’s simple, the quality of the cattle offered and the dedication of a core group of consignors. For many, this is their annual production sale where they get to showcase the best and most current their program has to offer. I was only twelve years old when this sale started and made my first purchase at it when I was eighteen, and now am very proud and honoured that I have the privilege of touring and selecting each and every animal in the sale. This year the line up is as stacked as it has ever been. For you juniors and those who are still juniors at heart, the open show heifers both Red and Black will compete and win at the highest of levels. Do not forget about the 10% junior discount on all open heifers; this group has always been committed to supporting 4-H and junior Angus members. The bred females represent all of the most proven cow families the great Angus breed has to offer, mated to some of the hottest service sires possible. This is the first time in many years we have had the opportunity to offer a couple of outstanding herd bull prospects as well. Never in history has there been a better time to be in the beef business; take this opportunity to add some top genetics to your program and add to your inventory. Those with inventory are in the driver’s seat and will be for the next decade; restocking will be slow and with the new trade agreements being signed, we will have new markets opening up to us. A powerful daughter of the 2013 NWSS Grand Champion Bull, Sankeys Justified 101. This heifer got a lot of attention this summer during the Saskatchewan Angus Tour. The Swayze 33Z progeny are moderate made and very structurally correct. They have excellent thick hair coats and catch your eye with that often underestimated eye appeal. There are hardly enough of these Swayze 33Z daughters to be offering one for sale but we have made the decision to offer at least one from each sire group in the fall female sales to prove the consistency and depth of our herd. We are pleased with the Swayze 33Z progeny both male and female. The only reason there are not a lot of progeny is we leased Swayze out for part of the breeding season to help out a fellow breeder that had some bad luck with hardware disease in one of their young herd sires.

When we were approached to consign again to the Keystone Klassic sale we definitly wanted to bring something unique. Here is a pair of 3/4 sisters, sired by the $50,000 valued, competely outcross sire Ice Man.
