We at Diamond C Ranch would like to welcome you to our 16th annual bull sale. Doing things right is something we try to instill into our children, and incorporate into our ranch and our cattle. As always, we have worked hard to bring you our strongest set of bulls to date; bulls that will propel your herd forward to help increase productivity, both from putting that extra weight on your calves and improving your females so they can last longer and raise bigger calves. It is a proven fact that efficiency is the key to moving forward in all aspects of farming and your cow herd is no different. We all need cows that are productive and that is what we are producing. Cows that are producing productive calves that turn into productive bulls that are meeting and exceeding our industry standards and cows that are producing females that are raising the standards of the industry. We are honored to have breeders in other breeds stop by our stall at the shows and comment on how impressed they are with our cattle. We are doing things right! Our bull numbers are a bit down for several reasons, one being that the Lord blessed us with a higher ratio of females to bulls the past three years, and also from implementing a higher cull rate to bring you the best bulls we can. Again, an example of doing things right. Our program consists of two calving groups: those calving in January/February create our yearling sale bulls, and the May/June group provides the coming 2-year-olds. We use BJV feed management so our rations are balanced to have the bulls at a rate of gain that grows them out without burning them out. The May/June calves are weaned in December and fed a backgrounding ration for the first winter, and then are taken to grass from June until mid-September. We at Diamond C Ranch are sticking to the basics – raising bulls that will improve your weaning weights, improve your females and have your heifers calving easily and ready to breed back. Doing things right is exemplified by the fact our customer’s cattle are near the top, or topping the market, time after time. This is proof that our bulls are meeting the demands of the industry. We are excited and honored to be in this business and we feel blessed to be able to meet so many great cattle people. We are excited about meeting new customers and always enjoy visiting and servicing the needs of past customers. Again, we encourage you come by early and view the bulls at your convenience so you can analyze which bull will fit your program best. We will be hosting an open house on March 12 from 1-4 p.m. to give you time to look so you are not rushed on sale day. If you are unable to attend the sale, we can look after you either by being on the phone or taking a bid prior to the sale. Your bids are always kept confidential and as always, if you are unhappy in any way with our recommendation then you do not own him. Also, our sale will be live on the Internet for you to watch and bid through VJV auctions. They are very professional and will help you if you have any questions as to how to log on. Reference sire DIAMOND C BRAVEHEART We cannot say enough about this great bull! He is a bull that sires performance while keeping them correct and is exactly what our industry is looking for! He is the highest performance bull that we have ever used. He is one of those bulls that definitely is raising the standard for the Limousin breed. His sons are easy fleshing, just like him. We used him on 45 cows in our early group and then he went to work for Stewart Limousin and walked with 45 cows there from late May to early July. He came home and made it in our show string. Reference sire STONEYVIEW A-ROD A-Rod is a bull we liked for his pedigree, for his commercial appeal and to add milk production. He himself is super quiet and for the most part put that into his progeny. He is homo polled, which was also appealing. We used him for a couple of seasons, so there will be more of his offspring to come. He has sired progeny that are well balanced and have a strong foot under them. This is the first year his daughters will be in production and we are excited to see what they will do as he comes from a highly productive female.

Reference sire EXCEL POLLED POPEYE Well it is too bad we have to get old and that’s the same for Popeye. He worked super well at our ranch and is leaving behind sires like Braveheart and daughters like Angelina. He sires super quiet progeny and daughters that are very functional. We still have him, but because of age and his foot injury, he has been regulated for backup duty. It’s sure nice to have a backup like Popeye! TERMS & CONDITIONS TERMS: The terms of this sale are cash or cheque in Canadian Funds at par immediately following the sale. The right of ownership shall not pass until after settlement is made. All Settlements must be made before any livestock will be released. ABSENTEE BIDS: Mailed or telephone bids shall be handled
in the most confidential manner if you are unable to attend the sale in person. INSU RANCE: Ownership risk to purchaser commences when the auctioneer’s hammer falls. Insurance is available at the sale. A NNO UNC EMENTS: Any announcement made from the auction block take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. C ERTI FI C ATES: Certificates of registry and transfer on each bull shall be provided by the seller to the buyer without charge after settlement as been made. Please leave transfer instructions at the clerk’s desk. B REEDER’S GUA RA NTEE: The seller warrants clear title to and the right to sell each bull offered for sale. All bulls offered for sale are warranted to be sound, however; the seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign objects after the bull has been sold nor sickness that was not apparent at the time of sale. B REEDING GUA RA NTEE: We, the sellers, have done everything possible to assure you, the buyer, that every bull in this sale will be a breeder. However, should a problem arise, please inform the seller so the problem can be resolved. The purchaser shall have six months from the date the bull reaches fourteen months of age to report in writing to the seller that the buII is a non-breeder, providing of course, that the bull has been maintained in satisfactory breeding condition. Each consignor will have six months to prove the buII a breeder after the time of report. In the event a bull is a non breeder the situation will be handled by either a replacement, creditor money back. In no case will an adjustment be made for more than the purchase price of that particular bull. At no time will a buyer’s reimbursement or credit ever exceed the buyer’s purchase price of the bull, semen or female. No guarantee is given that semen collected from any bull in this sale wiII freeze or be suitable for artificial insemination.
