Canadian Western National Gelbvieh Sale From the desk at T Bar... Welcome to Canadian Western Agribition 2016 and the Canadian National Gelbvieh Show and Sale. Like the Stanley Cup in Hockey, the Grey Cup in football, this event in the livestock industry compares the “best with the best” and offers endless opportunities to add another star to your herd’s program. The selected sale offering is full of quality and fresh genetics that will enhance any program throughout the nation! The breeders have opened their front pasture gates to allow us to select from the elite in the field. Only in an event of this stature, can you have the chance to select from a show string.... picking either sex and having an opportunity to find your next herd sire. The females in the offering are unique and competitive... complete with donor capabilities.... little guess work and tons of upside! If we may be of any assistance, prior to or sale day, do not hesitate to contact any of the T Bar Team or myself... we will be pleased to assist in a professional manner.

THE SWEETHEART GELBVIEH CLASSIC The Man-Sask Gelbvieh Association is pleased to present the 17th Sweetheart Gelbvieh Classic, a people’s choice female futurity to be part of the Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh Show in November 2016. The Sweetheart Classic is open to any age of Gelbvieh female entered in the regular Canadian Western Agribition Gelbvieh Show. Four finalists will be brought to the sale where winners will be announced. Futurity members may enter their females until November 21. The futurity entry fee is $100.00 per head, with a maximum of two (2) entries per membership. Members will also be entered into a draw to win the proceeds from the sale of the Sweetheart Classic Champion or the Futurity, whichever is lesser. 50% of this prize will be given as cash and the remaining 50% will be a sale credit. The sale credit can be used at the 2016 Agribition Sale. The people’s choice judging of the Sweetheart Classic will take place immediately following the Gelbvieh Bull Show. The Female Gelbvieh Show will commence upon the completion of this portion of the futurity. At the end of the Gelbvieh Female show, the top four (4) females as selected by the futurity members will be announced in random order. The following day, at the Canadian Western Agribition Sale, the Sweetheart Classic Champion will be announced and then auctioned off as the feature lot. The consignor of the Champion Female will retain the right to one flush at their expense and the owner’s convenience. The second place Sweetheart winner will receive a $500.00 Agribition sale voucher. RWG Kitty 4512 is a phenotypically unique purebred female that offers an exceptional pedigree, elite carcass values, backed by generations of one of the breeds most influential cow families. RWG Kitty 4512 is a full sister to RWG Zee Kitty 2534 who has already made herself into a highlight donor female with her outstanding progeny production. She is the dam of RWG Blowin’ Minds 4402 who calls home at Beastrom Ranch. The “Kitty” cow family has consistently produced elite herd sires that continue to influence our breed and the most powerful productive daughters. RWG Kitty 4512 is easily one of our very best “Kitty” females, and is planned to be flushed in 2017. The power of her beautiful heifer calf at foot displays everything you need to know about the maternal power of RWG Kitty 4512. Carcass has quickly become a focal point within our breeds seed stock cattle, RWG Kitty 4512 flat out excels as she indexed 135 for IMF and her full sister’s progeny average 118 for IMF. Her EPD profile is excellent and is backed by many generations of positive carcass quality genetics. We truly feel this young female has the making to be a long time donor with the ability to leave a legacy and turn a serious profit!

RWG Kitty 6525 is exceptionally powerful, May 28th born baby by pedigree is a full sibling to RWG Blowin Minds 4402, ¾ sibling to walking sire RWG Bustin’ Stones 4603. She offers elite performance from the breed leading sire BEAS 2806Z who has quickly set the bar to a new level for curve bending power cattle. BEAS 2806Z has sired many high sellers and has positively impacted every program that has used his genetics. RWG Kitty 6525 offers fresh pedigree, excellent EPD profile, exceptional phenotype, and could very easily become one of the most profitable females in any breeding program.

Where to start on this meat wagon herd sire prospect? First off, if he wasn’t a paternal brother to two of our walking sires and a maternal brother to a third, he plain and simply would not be for sale! His dam VG 157T has been a true cornerstone seed stock female. She has helped shape and build our fantastic “Goodnight” cow family. With multiple direct daughters in production and countless granddaughters, VG 157T has left a legacy of profitability. That to us is what adds so much value to a herd sire like RWG Captain 5701. His maternal brother RWG Xtreme Traction 0521 won Divisions at NWSS but the udder quality, phenotype, and production on his daughters are what sets him apart from the crowd. RWG Captain 5701 should easily duplicate. RWG Captain 5701 packs an absolute pile of shape and mass into his stout made frame. His performance values prove he will match or exceed his EPD profile. To date, Captain 5701 is the softest, high performance son of BEAS 2806Z. His paternal brothers have been extremely well received by both seed stock and commercial cattlemen. RWG Captain 5701 provides breeders the opportunity to purchase an elite homo polled, hetero black BEAS 2806Z son who truly has the makings to surpass his sire.

RWG Right Combination 5506 is phenotypically one of the neatest bulls we have ever raised! RWG Right Combination 5506 was used heavily as a walking sire in 2016 exclusively by Royal Western Gelbvieh. He is sired by the 2015 NWSS Senior Champion Bull “RWG War Admiral 2528” now deceased with zero semen inventory. RWG War Admiral 2528 helped dramatically improve phenotype and made clean fronted, structurally correct cattle with lots of top and natural shape. His donor dam has done a fantastic job in our program. Her first son is RWG Ali 3539 who is co-owned with Nelson Gelbvieh and one look at his first calf crop and you know he’s dramatically improving phenotype. Just take a close look at the CWA sale heifer from Nelson Gelbvieh and the GAA/BC donation heifer both are RWG Ali 3539 daughters. It took a lot of discussion to decide to make RWG Right Combination 5506 genetics available. This pick lot will provide the winning bidder with the opportunity to collect and use as much semen as they want in their own program, plus if they wish we will gladly help market and sell semen.

She has an average progeny 205 day index of 108 and 365 day index of 107. RWG Cat Power 5703 should add growth, length of body, carcass values, eye appeal and profitability through excellent fertility to his progeny. Thus providing very marketable genetics for both the seed stock and commercial industry! Both his sire and dam have done exactly that for every program they have progeny in.

DDN Dirt Road 71D is the maternal brother to the 2015 Canadian People’s Choice Bull Futurity Champion. He is very complete in his body pattern, with exceptional length of body and very sound from the ground up. His dam was an absolute stand out as a bred heifer and has quickly paved her way to be recognized as one of the top producing females at Nelson Gelbvieh. This is no surprise as the RWG Fed-X 0411 daughters have been some of the most ideal females in production. DDN 230Z dam of Dirt Road combines: BB 61Y, Iron Horse 42T, Traction 7412, Miss 56R some of the breed’s most profound sires and dams. She has an absolute picture perfect udder and sweet disposition one of those females you could build an entire program around. DDN Dirt Road 71D is sired by JRI Peterbilt 282B31 ET; he was a high selling highlight lot being a full brother to the popular JRI Top Producer bull. Peterbilt 282B31 ET co-owned with BNH Livestock was lost after his first year of breeding and has an extremely limited semen supply. He has stamped his progeny in both programs, with substance, power and eye appeal. DDN Dirt Road 71D makes a solid case to follow in his sire’s footsteps with an added outcross pedigree from a young elite dam of Merit.

We have always consigned our top females to the CWA sale and this year is no exception. Fladeland Daisy Duke 51D is one we are very excited about consigning this year; she is one of those very attractive females that are easy to find in the pen at home or on the show road. A direct daughter of VV Zake 114Z who we have used very heavily in our A.I. and ET programs the past three years and have retained a son of him, Fladeland Painkiller 123C ET who will also be in our show string. Zake was very successful on the show road including the CWA National Champion bull in 2013. FLAD 51D definitely carried on with the deep red color and tremendous hair coat. She will be shown along her dam Fladeland Sparks Fly 29Z who was shown with success at CWA, she was Senior Calf Champion 2012, Junior Champion Female and the Gelbvieh First lady Champion in 2013 and the Reserve Junior Cow/Calf in 2014. 29Z is a great example of the type of cow we aim to produce; she is extremely deep bodied, very feminine, has an impeccable udder and excellent structure, those traits will be passed on to 51D.

AWB Birch’s Natalie 1D is as powerful as she is pretty. Natalie is homozygous polled, diluter free and is cherry red with plenty of hair. She comes from two exceptional parents with her sire being SA Birch’s Revolver 3B who was Reserve Senior Bull Calf Champion at Agribition in 2014. His first calf crop is everything we expected with progeny performing at the top of the group and displaying his style and phenotype. He is sure to be one of our top sires for years to come. Natalie’s dam is a flawless, moderately designed female who is very easy fleshing with a picture perfect udder. Her first son, AWB Birch’s Big Time 41B, is working for JSJ Gelbvieh and another son for one of our progressive commercial customers. Natalie started at just 73lbs but her EPD’s are in the top 15% for weaning weight and top 10% for yearling. Watch for Natalie 1D and her dam this fall at the NILE, Farmfair and Agribition. Whether you are in search of your next donor dam, herd matriarch or show heifer Natalie 1D fits the bill.

Margaret 138D is the pick of the heifer pen. We gave T Bar C the pick of our heifer pen and she was the one they selected. She is a very attractive dark red heifer. She is sired by our black herdsire SLC 202A who sires thick and moderate offspring. His daughters are clean fronted with a nice thick hip. 138D’s grand sire SLC Outback 142X needs no introduction. He was the 2012 National Champion Bull as well as a top 10 finisher in the Supreme. Outback daughters are thick and moderate with very nice udders. Outback has been used very successfully in the Judd Ranch program in Kansas. Margaret comes from a long line of productive females.

Her picture says everything you need to know about her phenotype. DDN Diva 58D’s sire RWG Ali 3539 has stamped his first set of progeny with that added look, mass and shape we all want in our modern purebreds. Diva’s dam DDN Xelga 097X is a top end “JJ” daughter that has a lot of natural hip and muscle; she is beautifully uddered and is solid structurally. This spectacular heifer calf has the opportunity to help move the most progressive breeding programs forward.

Prairie Hills Gelbvieh is proud to offer PHG Diva D23 for your consideration. Diva is easily a stand out in our heifer pen this year, both for her phenotype, and her individual performance. Diva is the natural calf of our latest donor VVGR 716T. 716T landed her first 4 calves in the show string, with her 2014 calf being a runner up in the Canadian Bull Futurity. As a testament to the predictability of this female, she currently has 7 embryo bull calves on feed for our sale, with an average weaning weight of 822 pounds! Diva truly combines the sharpness and femininity of her dam, with the dimension and thickness of Yikes. The Yikes calves were one of our highest averaging sire groups in 2016. Take a good look at her half brother in our string and you’ll see why! Don’t overlook her marbling EPD that places her in the top 4% of the breed! This is a female you can really build a herd around!

Divine D54 offers some of the best in Canadian genetics, with an American twist. Last year we were fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase Silent Stan from Fladelands, and the calves that he sired this year are at the top of their class. We decided to offer one of his daughters that should appeal to most producers. This girl is moderate in her frame, but offers tremendous rib and broodiness. Her dam traces to a Valley Gelbvieh female we purchased as an open heifer. I don’t know if you can get any more predictable than a sire as proven as Stan, and the female power from the 68N breeding. A very unique pedigree that offers outstanding breeding potential. Her EPD’s are genomically enhanced, and she has been tested homozygous polled. There won’t be many more Stan daughters for sale, so don’t miss this opportunity!

TIP Miss Jeanete 51D is an outstanding individual. She is deep and soggy with lots of length and style. We feel very proud of this offering into the National sale and feel she will rise to the top and go on to be a fantastic brood matron or flush female. Her dam will find herself in our embryo program in the spring of 2017. Fir River Bert left a tremendous mark in our program but due to injury, this will be his only offspring by natural service. Bert was deep ribbed and thick hipped with excellent feet. 51D has combined the best from both parents and I feel will be one outstanding individual!
