Pre-Spring Fling

APRIL: Morag x Tellas

As part of a new collaborative residency exchange, Morag Macpherson (Studio 36, p29) and Tellas (based in Sardinia) have joined forces again, after their collaboration for Spring Fling Rural Mural in 2016. This time the artists will use mixed media methods to create a new series of artworks inspired by the merging of their own styles.

I am a painter/mixed media artist. One of my interests is in capturing the power and energy of the landscape through bold, gestural mark-making and brushwork. I love en plein air painting sessions and use a variety of materials including charcoal, oil and acrylic.

What to expect: At my studio I will be showing finished expressive landscape paintings and high quality prints as well as sketches, charcoal drawings, sketchbooks and collages from my en plein air sessions. Other work on show will be inspired by the figure and my love of portraiture.

For many years I have been working with wood, particularly locally found unseasoned wood. I create a range of wooden forms using a lathe and enhance their natural features with detailed freehand pyrography.

What to expect: I am an artist with a passion for wood and a love of fine detailed drawing. I have two workshops where I display finished work, work in various stages of completion and the equipment and machinery I use.
