GAYRVA Media Kit

Out.Spoken. As Richmond, Virginia’s only online magazine of news and information about the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community, GayRVA.com represents a voice which reflects the city’s powerful diversity. Reaching out to a wider & more diverse audience is increasingly a major component of organizational sales and marketing strategies. Businesses can’t afford to lose potential sales from the valuable LGBT consumer. Many major brands now actively target the gay community, as even the most conservative executives have come to understand that there’s just too much money to be made from LGBT consumers.

Valuable Consumers GayRVA.com advertisers benefit from being recognized as friendly within Richmond’s LGBT community. These valuable consumers purchase where they feel there is mutual respect, acceptance and loyalty. Consider that in 2010, total spending of lesbian, gay, and transgender individuals was $743 billion in the US. The following companies are just a few who are trying to capture market share from this valuable consumer group.

“Because of our media buy, we were able to fill the auditorium and the sponsors said that they have never had as diverse an audience as they did on Monday night. I know GayRVA contributed to the event’s success.” Lisa Van Riper, University of Richmond

“GayRVA filled a void that existed in Richmond and immediately changed the way Richmond Triangle Players could communicate with its target community .. and way beyond.” Phil Crosby, Richmond Triangle Players “The team at GayRVA went to great lengths to make sure our contract fit our budget to promote our tours. As a result, we have increased our ticket sales…” Lesley Bruno, Valentine Richmond History Center

Audience Reach According to the WIlliams Institute, more than 9 million Americans self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender while other studies show the LGBT community could be as high as 10% of the total U.S. population.
