Welcome on this third Sunday in Advent to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. A great way to prepare for Christmas is to join in as many Advent activities as possible at Saint Michael. A complete list is available on the website at www.saintmichael.org. There will be 11 Christmas Eve worship services, which are listed on the card in your service bulletin. Be sure to take it with you and join us. Thank you for worshiping with us today. Sunday Breakfast with Canon Mary MacGregor. Mary MacGregor, Canon for Evangelism and Congregational Development for the Diocese of Texas, will have breakfast with the Forum Class Sunday morning in the Coke Activities Room at 10:00. She will talk about moving from “Gratitude to Generosity.” Advent Home Communions This Week. An Advent Home Communion is a wonderful celebration of our life at Saint Michael. Today the Fellowship Class meets at 5:30 at the home of Phoebe and Carl Moore, 3713 Wentwood Dr.; Monday at 6:00 at the home of Garland and Michael Cohlmia, 14 Royal Way; and Wednesday at 6:00 at the home of Shelly Vescovo, 3442 Asbury. RSVP to hosts. The schedule and location of the Home Communions is available online at www.saintmichael.org/homecommunion . Christmas Offerings Designated for Outreach Ministries. The Christmas offerings, as every year, will be divided equally between local, national, and international outreach ministries: the North Texas Food Bank, Episcopal Relief and Development Domestic Disaster Relief Fund, and the Rome Refugee Ministry of St. Paul’s within the Walls Episcopal Church. Vestry and Diocesan Delegate Nominations Close Tuesday, December 15. The deadline to nominate people for positions on the vestry or as a delegate at the Diocesan Convention is 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15. The candidates will be elected at the Parish Annual Meeting on February 28. Nomination forms are available from the church receptionist and online at www.saintmichael.org. Deadline for Christmas Flower Memorials is Wednesday. If you would like to remember a loved one this Christmas, fill out the Flower Memorial envelope enclosed in the worship bulletin with the names of those you want to honor and return it with your check by Wednesday, December 16. Flower Memorial envelopes are also available at the South Lanai reception desk.

Pajama Prayers Wednesday Evening. Hop into your pajamas and head to the Saint Michael Chapel for storytelling, singing, prayers, and a yummy bedtime snack Wednesday evening at 6:00. Oliver Butler at obutler@saintmichael.org. Nativity Pageant Next Sunday. The Nativity Pageant featuring the children and youth of Saint Michael will be at 11:00 next Sunday in the Church. Following the pageant the Children, Youth, and Family Ministry is hosting a lunch for all parishioners in the Youth Center. The 11:00 Rite I worship service usually in the Church will be in the Saint Michael Chapel.


“Heart Of Giving” Supports Outreach Ministries. Heart of Giving is a great way to recognize family, friends, or business associates at Christmas. It supports Saint Michael’s Mission and Outreach Ministries: The Good Samaritan Fund, Jubilee Park, Rosebud Indian Reservation, Honduras Mission, and the Amistad Bolivia Mission. Purchase Heart of Giving cards outside the Book Shop, at the South Lanai reception, or online www.saintmichael.org/heartofgiving. Jubilee Park Seniors Christmas Luncheon is Thursday. The annual Christmas Luncheon for seniors in Jubilee Park is Thursday, December 17. There is still a need for volunteers to cook and to serve at the luncheon. A list of food items needed and serving opportunities can be found online at www.saintmichael.org. Men of Saint Michael Breakfast Friday, December 18. The monthly breakfast of the Men of Saint Michael will be this Friday, December 18. The Rev. Oliver Butler will review the birth of Isaac (which means “laughter” in Hebrew) from the Book of Genesis. Breakfast tacos, juice, and coffee for $5 at 7:00 in the Coke Activities Room. It should be a fun morning. Tube Socks for Meals on Wheels. Meals on Wheels is collecting tube socks for the elderly and homebound in Dallas who receive their meals from the organization. There is a collection basket in the South Lanai. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires that 2015 tax deductible contributions must be received by the Church or postmarked by midnight December 31. The church offices will be open until 4:30 on Thursday, December 31 and there is a secure deposit box outside the Bishop Moore Chapel. 11 Christmas Eve Services scheduled – Two to be Streamed. There will be 11 worship services on Christmas Eve beginning at 7:00 a.m. and concluding with the traditional “midnight” mass at 10:30 p.m. Several services are designed especially for families and young children. Two services, the 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. will be streamed live at www. saintmichael.org.
