Happy Mothers’ Day and Welcome to Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. In honor of mothers everywhere, we are presenting roses to all women at every worship service today. And, it is very appropriate that today we honor our graduating high school seniors who have achieved this milestone with the love and guidance of mothers and fathers. Say prayers of thanks today for our many blessings. End of Life Series Concludes Today. The series dealing with End of Life Issues concludes today with The Rev. Lisa Flores Musser discussing the planning of a memorial service at Saint Michael. The series meets in the Theater at 10:00. Spring Luncheon of the Women of Saint Michael is Wednesday. The Women of Saint Michael‘s Annual Spring Luncheon is this Wednesday, May 11, featuring nationally recognized corporate change-agent Courtney Ferrell. The luncheon, starting at 11:00 will be held at 7000 Park Lane. Luncheon reservations can be made online at www.saintmichael.org/springluncheon. Family Mission Trip Planned to Costa Rica – Join In. Interested in a mission trip to Costa Rica that includes the entire family? The Rev. Bill Murray along with several families from Saint Michael are planning a mission with Homes of Hope, November 18 -21, and are urging more Saint Michael families to join in. Everyone, even children as young as 5, can participate in a weekend of building homes for the poor and needy. Watch a brief video on Homes of Hope online. Summer Schedule Begins Sunday, May 29. The summer worship schedule will begin Sunday, May 29. At 9:00, the Rite II service will be in the church and the Discovery and Joy Mass services will be held in the Saint Michael Chapel. At 11:00, the Rite I worship will be in the Saint Michael Chapel, and the 11:11 Celebration worship will be in the Parish Hall. The Sunday 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. services are unchanged. Beginning June 5 at 10:00, Faith and Literature, the adult Sunday class, will meet in Saint Michael Chapel; Family Summer Sunday School for elementary age children and their families will be in the Coke Activities Room, and our middle school and high school youth will meet in the Youth Center. There will be no Sunday School on May 29, the Memorial Day weekend. Safe Church Training Scheduled for Tuesday, May 17. Safe Church Training is essential to our church's dedication to provide a safe and caring environment. It is required for anyone working with youth or children. The training will be Tuesday, May 17 at 9:30 in the Youth Center. RSVP to Kimberly Robinson at krobinson@ saintmichael.org. Pentecost Celebrations Next Sunday, May 15 Celebrate Pentecost, the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the Church next Sunday. Beginning at 9:30 in the Garden Cloister there will be a free breakfast, with a balloon artist, games, and a dove release at 10:30. At the 9:00 and 11:00 worship services Mission and Outreach will reveal new and expanded outreach ministries for Saint Michael. Be sure to wear something red, the color of Pentecost!

Vacation Bible School Needs Volunteer Leaders. Vacation Bible School, June 13-16 from 9: 00 -12 Noon, needs adult leaders at grade levels from Pre-K to Grade 5. Volunteers will lead groups to rotations, facilitate short classroom discussions, and oversee activity time. All supplies and materials will be provided. Disciples Class to Get Youth Ministry Introduction Today. The recently confirmed Disciples Class meets today in the Youth Center for an introduction to the Youth Ministry. They will learn about ministry events including LiveWIRE, mission trips, and other programs in which they will participate beginning in the next school year. Current 7th – 12th grade students are urged to greet their new members.


St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange Having Book Signing artists from Dallas will be featured Wednesday, May 11 at a book signing and jewelry show from 2:00 – 4:00 at the St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange in Highland Park Village. Gray Malin, a graduate of ESD, will sign copies of his new book of photographs, Beaches. Taylor Miller, a SMU graduate, will show her latest jewelry designs.

Diocese Hosting Evangelism Conference. “Sharing our Faith: Evangelism for Everyday” is the subject of a conference sponsored by the Diocese of Dallas on Saturday, June 19. It will be led by Grant Skeldon of The Initiative Network and Canon J. John, advisor to the Archbishop of Canterbury on Evangelism. The conference will be from 9:00 to 12-Noon at Church of the Incarnation. Register online at www.edod.org. Take Your Faith to a New Level – EfM (Education for Ministry). Education for Ministry (EfM) combines the study of Scriptures, Christian history, and theology with a focus on everyday experiences to discern God’s presence in one’s life. The program developed by the Episcopal seminary at the University of the South – Sewanee is widely recognized for developing one's knowledge of scripture and theology. The 2nd Annual retreat of the Friends of Dr. Bob, May 20 – 22, will address issues of addiction at what is described as a “life-changing weekend.” The retreat, at the Camp Allen Episcopal Retreat Center at Navasota will be led by Fr. Mike Falls, a former Dallas Cowboy and retired Episcopal priest, and Fr. Bill W. who has served as an addiction counselor, individual and family therapist, and treatment center director.
