Parish Nurses Promote Healthy Hearts. Parish Nurse Sunday is today, with the focus on Healthy Hearts. Visit the South Lanai and let a Parish Nurse provide you with information on keeping your heart in good condition. They will answer other health related questions you have. The Wednesday Experience: Eat • Pray • Create Make Lent an experience for the entire family. Wednesday, February 24, at 5:30 we will eat a simple soup supper in the Coke activities Room, at 6:00 experience Taize Night Prayers with music led by Brice Beaird in Saint Michael Chapel, and create Taize-style candles in the South Lanai at 6:30.

Meditation booklet is available at several locations throughout the church. The meditations are written by Saint Michael clergy and parishioners. The meditations also are available online at www.saintmichael.org.

The Saint Michael Book Shop has a great selection including lotions and healing oils, bath salts, and room sprays. Thistle Farms, founded by Episcopal priest, Becca Stevens, provides counseling, training, and employment for women survivors of addiction, trafficking, and domestic violence. Prime Timers to Hear Miss Texas Judge. Grab your sash and tiara and prepare to be entertained by former Miss Texas judge, Janet Sue Rush. She will tell what goes on”behind the scenes” at the Miss Texas Pageant, the ins and outs of being a judge, and grooming a contestant. Our meeting is March 3 at 10:30 in the Coke Activities Room. Annual Meeting Next Sunday February 28, 10:00 in the Church. New Vestry members, Diocesan Convention delegates, and Foundation Trustees will be elected at the Annual Parish Meeting next Sunday, February 28 at 10:00 in the Church. Those proposed for election are: Vestry Nominees: Whitney Grogan, Elizabeth L. Selzer, Arnold Spencer, Matthew Waller, Chris Wiley. Diocesan Convention Delegates: Liz Oliphant, Sallie Plummer, Darrel Rice; Alternates 1. Susie Ryan, 2. Richard Frazar, 3. John Glass. Foundation Trustees: Peggy Carr, Dare Gillette, David Martin, Tamara O’Connor, and Stewart Thomas. There will be reports from Senior Warden Matthew Waller, Treasurer Grady Schleier, and Rector Search and Transition Team co-chair Diana Newton. The 11:00 Rite I worship service will be held in the Saint Michael Chapel. Children and youth will enjoy movies, refreshments, and games in the Youth Center. Acolyte Training Scheduled in February. Become a member of Saint Michael’s Acolyte Corps, recognized as one of the best in the Episcopal Church. Serve at The Gathering Worship for the Homeless Next Sunday. Join us next Sunday, February 28th to worship and to help feed the homeless in downtown Dallas at Thanksgiving Square. We need volunteers to cook in the Parish Hall Kitchen at 11:00 Sunday morning and to serve lunch after the 1:00 service. We also need any baked desserts you could provide. Celebrate Women’s History Month at the annual Mother-Daughter Tea at the Jubilee Park Community Center March 5. The tea, with lunch, craft stations, and a photo booth, will be from 12:00 – 2:00. Volunteers are needed from 10:30 – 2:30 to provide food and supplies and help with set-up and serving. Volunteer online at http://bit.ly/jubilee_tea Extended Care Cooks Needs Volunteers. The Saint Michael Extended Care Cooks prepare a meal for parishioners who are ill, just home from the hospital, or are suffering some kind of loss. Learn About Honduras Threads Summer Mission Trip at March Information Sessions. The women of Honduras Threads are skilled artisans and Saint Michael missioners are teaching them business skills enabling them to move from informal co-ops to an association recognized by the Honduran government. You can be a part of this transforming ministry. Come and learn about Honduras Threads and the June 12 -17 Mission Trip at 10:00 on Sundays, March 6 and March 13 in the Parlor. Saint Michael Presents the Boston Brass Tonight

The Boston Brass, which has enthralled audiences around the world, tonight’s Saint Michael Presents community concert at 7:00 in the church. The program ranges from classical to jazz, and everything in-between. And, the audience chooses the second-half of the program. Come join the fun. The concert is free, but tickets are necessary to ensure adequate seating. Tickets are available online, www.saintmichael.org, or at the reception desk.
