WELCOME TO THE SEPTEMBER EDITION OF OUR EDUCATION GUIDE! HERE AT SEE WE REALLY VALUE EDUCATION AND BELIEVE PASSIONATELY IN THE IMPORTANCE THEATRE CAN HAVE ON A CHILD’S LEARNING. THE SKILLS YOUR STUDENTS WILL ACQUIRE ARE INVALUABLE AND, WITH OUR GREAT EDUCATION DEALS, AFFORDABLE. We’ve got some fantastic new shows coming up over the next booking period including AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, CATS and THE TINDERBOX along with great rates for favourites like MATILDA THE MUSICAL and WAR HORSE. We’re also delighted to launch a new and exclusive education workshop package with CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, see page 7 for more details.

2. Collaboration - Pupils practice working together, sharing responsibility and collaborating with others to accomplish a common goal. Trips to programmes like BRICK 2015, THE CAKE AND BAKE SHOW, MATILDA THE MUSICAL the new CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY acting workshops and the DR WHO EXPERIENCE make for unmissable educational opportunities.

Four reasons why including us in your education programme is a gold star-worthy idea:

3. Problem Solving - Artistic productions are born through the solving of problems or answering questions posed by character and plot. How is Hamlet conflicted? How do I portray a particular emotion through performance? Develop children’s skills in reasoning and understanding and provide life skills necessary for success in any career.

1. Variety – Across the curriculum, theatre supports learning in PSHE, Citizenship, History, Politics and even the magic of maths is brought to life in THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME! There is something for every subject.

4. Focus - A balance between listening and contributing, after the show in class or within one of our workshops, involves a great deal of concentration and focus. It requires each participant to not only think about their role in the group, but how their role contributes to the big picture of what is being created or asked of them. Recent research has shown that participation in the arts improves children’s abilities to concentrate and focus in school and other aspects of their lives as well as leading to increased vocabulary, greater tolerance and improved ability to read the emotions of others. As Shakespeare said ‘All the world’s a stage’, we’re here to bring you shows on the best stages we know. We look forward to working with you to give your students an incredible experience.
