Goldfarb in a talk I attended a few years back. He presented the idea that since there are over six billion people in the world, but only twelve astrological signs, then in theory you should be able to please every living person with only twelve dishes. So we decided to simplify the concept a bit, by paring down the twelve astrological signs to the four elements, and apply it to gift-giving.
