Entertainment Programme 2011 A visit to The Scandinavia Show is a visit to a world of invigorating shows, enlightening presentations, delicious food demonstrations and adorable playmates for children. With last year’s success as the benchmark, this year’s show takes the venture even further. Not only will visitors be able to meet one of the most famous Scandinavians in the UK, Deputy Superintendent Sarah Lund alias Danish actress Sofie Gråbøl, they will also see some of London’s greatest Scandi chefs showing off their skills, be roused by the catchy tunes of folk music band Fribo, and encounter some of Scandinavia’s greatest travel destinations. There is something for all tastes, energy levels and ages; even the family’s youngest will be right in their element in the huge play area, where they can meet cute huskies and courageous Vikings. The only problem this year is how to fit it all in!

Founded by Annette Mencke, the Danish Church’s gospel choir represents a group of around 25 enthusiastic gospel singers conducted by one of London’s most experienced gospel conductors, Colin Vassell. While people might not associate Denmark with gospel, “it has become very popular because Danes love to be together, be part of something and have fun,” explains Mencke. So come join the fun and sing along.
Laura Ryhänen and Uusikuu – Finnish Tango Laura Ryhänen and Uusikuu are one of the most interesting and original interpreters of Finnish tango. The quintet’s critically acclaimed second album Babylonia was released earlier this year on Humppa Records. Laura Ryhänen and Uusikuu's music dates back to the 1930s and 1940s, but they give the old rhythms and melodies a deep cleansing treatment and make them current and relevant for the 21st century. They strip the songs to their bare bones and then reconstruct them and decorate them with jazz, musette and blues influences. The fruits of their labour are delivered to the audience by one of the most soulful new Finnish singing sensations Laura Ryhänen as

The Emmy-nominated series attracted an average of half a million viewers every week as well as overwhelming interest from the British press.
