RELIGHT YOUR FIRE! –GRILLS WITH THAT CERTAIN SOMETHING

Barbecues are becoming more and more popular. They are a great opportunity to meet family and friends, prepare delicious food together and have a splendid, relaxed time.

When we think of grills they are usually angular and a little bit chunky. Kugelblitz (ball lightning) grills from Andreas Weinfurtner’s manufacture now change this image. His grills are round and have a modern design. How did this break from the so-called usual come about? “We have always worked with ovens and design. Hence the step to manufacture a grill was almost logical. The first models looked different but after a while their typical round shape crystallised. And this gave us also the name for the grills,” remembers Weinfurtner.

His Kugelblitzes are made to order. They are available in different colours (vert antique, black matt and sarant grey and almost all RAL colours), variants and sizes: as straight grills or as grills with an integrated fire pit. Depending on the size, the Kugelblitzes are suitable for small or larger terraces or for the hotel and gastronomy sector.

For all their diversity, they have one thing in common: “They are a genuine crowd puller, people simply like to flock around the globes. Either to barbecue or simply to watch the fire. Kugelblitzes are very inspiring.”

The grills or fireplaces last a lifetime and are easy to handle. Grilling is indirect, i.e. the food is placed on a steel ring while the fire is ablaze in the middle. Harmful substances have thus no chance of contaminating the food.

Another advantage: Kugelblitzes can stand outside all year round. “Our classics made of stainless steel have an outer skin of weathering steel, which rusts and therefore seals itself. And the 10-12 mm steel grill plate becomes more resistant the more often it is used,” adds Weinfurtner. www.kugelblitz-grill.de

Speaking of the outer skin. One feature has not been mentioned yet. “I was always bothered by the fact that one can hurt oneself very easily on grills. So, I fiddled around until I finally found a way to market the Kugelblitz with a cooled outer wall.” This makes Kugelblitzes the only grills or fireplaces that remain cool on the outside, which renders them particularly attractive to families with small children or pet owners.
