ATELIER JEWELLERY FROM A MASTER HAND ATELIERSCHMUCK AUS MEISTERHAND

The luxurious brand ‘Annelie Fröhling – Atelierschmuck aus Meisterhand’ has been launched with something of a wow effect. Right at the very beginning of the start-up’s journey, Annelie Waldhier-Fröhling has been awarded the internationally renowned Red Dot Design Award 2022 for excellent product design. “With my own jewellery label and the award for the necklace ‘Blütentraum’, a dream really has come true for me.”

Incorporating 160 years of tradition, for more than 20 years, Annelie Waldhier-Fröhling, partner and head of design, has been designing the family company’s wedding ring collection, which itself too has won several international awards.

Independently of this, the talented designer founded her own jewellery label in autumn 2021. “I see my brand positioned in the luxury-design jewellery sector,” Annelie Waldhier-Fröhling says. With a lot of passion, the trained, creative and experienced master goldsmith now creates unique pieces of jewellery with a one-of-a-kind character, far beyond the ring.

The start was quickly successful for Annelie Fröhling. The Red Dot Design Award right at the beginning of the year speaks for itself. The designer creates poetically expressive collections with masterly craftsmanship that delights both the professionals and the public.

“I love nature. It inspires me and is my source of strength at the same time. Many jewellery ideas have their origin here – and every single piece of jewellery has its very own genesis,” the artist explains. The highest demands are not only placed on the design and the materials used – the message and symbolism of the individual pieces of jewellery are also close to Annelie Waldhier-Fröhling’s heart. Mit Wow-Effekt startet die luxuriöse Marke ‚Annelie Fröhling –Atelierschmuck aus Meisterhand‘. Gleich zu Beginn der Neugründung wird Annelie Waldhier-Fröhling mit dem international renommierten Red Dot Design Award 2022 für exzellentes Produktdesign ausgezeichnet. „Mit meinem eigenen Schmucklabel und der Auszeichnung des Colliers ‚Blütentraum‘ ist für mich ein Traum wahr geworden.“

160 Jahre Tradition – seit über 20 Jahren entwirft Annelie WaldhierFröhling, Gesellschafterin und Head of Design, die mehrfach international ausgezeichnete Trauringkollektion des Familienunternehmens.

Unabhängig davon gründet die talentierte Designerin 2021 ihr eigenes Schmucklabel. „Ich sehe meine Marke im luxuriösen DesignSchmuckbereich positioniert“, sagt Annelie Waldhier-Fröhling. Mit viel Leidenschaft kreiert die ausgebildete, kreative und erfahrene Goldschmiedemeisterin nun weit über den Ring hinaus einzigartige Schmuckstücke mit Unikatcharakter.

Der Start verlief äußerst erfolgreich. Die Auszeichnung gleich zu Beginn des Jahres mit dem Red Dot Design-Award spricht für sich. Die Designerin lässt in meisterlicher Handarbeit poetisch ausdruckvolle Kollektionen entstehen, die das Publikum begeistern.

„Ich liebe die Natur. Sie inspiriert mich und ist zugleich meine Kraftquelle. Viele Schmuckideen haben hier ihren Ursprung – und jedes einzelne Schmuckstück hat seine ureigene Entstehungsgeschichte“, erklärt die Künstlerin. Höchste Ansprüche werden nicht nur an das Design und die verwendeten Materialien gestellt - auch Botschaft und Symbolik der einzelnen Schmuckstücke liegen Annelie WaldhierFröhling am Herzen.

A VISIT TO THE DESIGNER

The special knitwear by xess+baba from Zurich impresses with its quality and strength of colour. Who is behind the successful label?

We meet Tina Grässli in her spacious studio in a former industrial district of Zurich. The place is full of energy for modern design. No wonder, since the neighborhood consists of many colleagues who work hard for fashion, architecture, photography, film, music and dance. The shooting for the newest xess+baba collection is taking place today. The team sits at the large kitchen table and, while eating pizza from the delivery service, discusses the photos to be taken. Tina guides us through the premises. New designs are already hanging on large pinboards. Knitting patterns and colour charts from production lie on the work surfaces. Since 1994, Tina has been designing these unique knitted items, which she originally made herself on a hand knitting machine. It is now produced in Germany and the popular cardigans are sold in boutiques all over the world.

Meanwhile, the shooting continues. The colourfulness of fashion should emerge from a dark room. The stylist has placed an old table with fruits and nuts on it. The name of the new collection: ‘Earl & Grace’. This completes a long design process. For Tina Grässli everyday life, she says: “We want to dress people in colour, whether old or young, colours make us attractive.” In addition, there are the patterns which convince with surprising colour combinations. We dare to try it on and are comfortably surrounded by the soft merino wool. It is immediately noticeable how the faces of the others brighten at the sight. “Our customers report compliments they receive from complete strangers. This makes us very happy and gives us the certainty that we will continue to follow our path,” says Tina Grässli.

EIN BESUCH BEI DER DESIGNERIN

Wir treffen Tina Grässli in ihrem geräumigen Atelier in einem ehemaligen Zürcher Industriequartier. Der Ort ist voller Energie für modernes Design. Kein Wunder, besteht doch die Nachbarschaft aus vielen Kollegen welche sich für Mode, Architektur, Fotografie, Film, Musik und Tanz ins Zeug legen. Heute findet das Shooting für die neue Kollektion von xess+baba statt. Das Team sitzt am grossen Küchentisch und bespricht die weiteren Fotos. Dazu gibt es Pizza vom Lieferdienst. Tina führt uns durch die Räumlichkeiten. An grossen Pinnwänden hängen bereits neue Entwürfe. Auf den Arbeitsflächen liegen Strickmuster und Farbkarten aus der Produktion. Seit 1994 entwirft Tina diese einzigartigen Strickteile welche sie ursprünglich auf einer Handstrickmaschine selbst herstellte. Mittlerweile wird in Deutschland produziert und die beliebten Strickjacken werden in Boutiquen auf der ganzen Welt verkauft.

Unterdessen geht es weiter mit dem Shooting. Aus einem dunklen Raum soll die Farbigkeit der Mode heraustreten. Die Stylistin hat einen alten Tisch platziert, darauf Früchte und Nüsse. Der Name der neuen Kollektion: ,Earl & Grace‘. Ein langer Designprozess ist damit abgeschlossen. Für Tina Grässli Alltag, sie sagt: �Wir wollen die Menschen mit Farbe einkleiden, egal ob alt oder jung, Farben machen uns attraktiv.“ Dazu kommen die Muster welche mit überraschenden Farbkombinationen überzeugen. Wir wagen eine Anprobe und sind von der weichen Merinowolle angenehm umgeben. Sofort fällt auf, wie sich die Gesichter der Anderen beim Anblick aufhellen. �Unsere Kunden berichten von Komplimenten welche sie von wildfremden Menschen erhalten. Das freut uns sehr und gibt uns die Gewissheit unserem Weg weiter zu folgen“, sagt Tina Grässli
