Faith at St. Benedict

Students from SBA, along with their peers from local youth groups, participated in the 2021 Discipleship Camp last week. The camp provides an opportunity for the kids to grow in their faith, learn from others and hear testimonies. For rising senior Alan Bernal, it was about "how life connects to God in every aspect and how to form your life around God as the center." Jesslyn Card, another rising senior, said that while this was not the first religious retreat she had been on, "if you are open you can get so much out of each one." Both students mentioned how nice it was to have the seminarians with them and appreciated how God brought them all together from different parts of the world. When asked if they would recommend this camp to their peers, they agreed that anyone - weak or strong in faith, Catholic or not - would get something out of this experience. We thank SBA faculty and staff members Adam Smith, Anna Graziosi, Sister Rita Marie and Father Dexter for being part of the crew that put this on.

Eucharistic Congress - "That All May Be One" This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of our Catholic Diocese of Memphis. The theme for our Anniversary is That All May Be One. To commemorate this momentous celebration, a Eucharistic Congress will be held October 8th - 9th , 2021, at the newly renovated Renasant Convention Center in downtown Memphis. A Eucharistic Congress is a gathering of clergy, religious and laity to bear witness to the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the sacramental presence of Jesus under the forms of bread and wine. Please join us.
