HOUSING IN BELLVER DE CERDANYA, OCCIDENTAL PYRENEES The house solves the topographic irregularities on the plot by using stone walls that act as a terrace. This strategy allows for obtaining: 1 | On the one hand, the acces, the garage and all the other uses in the street level, and also a large covered space for special celebrations. 2 | On the other hand, the principal plan of the housing is on the same lever of the garden, which is oriented to the south with views of the Cadí Mountain range. The achieved objective is the continuous garden around the house. The main idea has been the design of a compact house that is completely integrated with the landscape.

PRIVACY SEQUENCES The criteria in organizing both indoor and outdoor spaces is the privacy sequences. From de principal access there is a direct relation with the porch, which is understand as a social and public space, and also with the garage and the storage space.Going through the outdoor stairs or from the semi-basement, there is the familiar space. The day zone consists in an open space with the living room, the kitchen and the dining room. It has a direct relation with the outdoor, the views and the southern location. From this opened space, there is the acces to the following area of privacity, the night zone. The bedrooms, two double rooms and a suite, are located to the east and west, in order to enjoy the sunrise and the sunset. A strategy related with the collocation of the windows, allows good views of the Cadí Mountain Range and La Tossa, symbolic places of La Cerdanya. The bathrooms have a north orientation, with small openings that guarantee the light without exposing them to the cold and the humidity. Space under the roof
Finally, the last area of privacity is the space under the roof. It is an intimate space with a 360-degree view and two outdoor corners protected from the climate and the neighbour views.

Sau Taller d’Arquitectura is a multigenerational and multidisciplinary architectural practice based in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Girona and currently established in Barcelona and Puigcerdà.
