The Ruth Eckerd Hall Children’s Choir
Levels I & II Ages: 7–12, Saturdays, 9:00–9:45 am, musicianship class 9:45–11:00 am, performance building Tuition: $187.50, includes musicianship class and Choir ; Instructors: Kathy Bawel, Bill Cusick The Ruth Eckerd Hall Children’s Choir prides itself both in entertaining its audiences and in achieving music literacy for all its members. Students are trained in sight-reading, vocal technique, and two- and three-part harmony. Come audition to be a part of this fun and high-level performance choir!

Students in this choir will focus on vocal tone, choral blend, and independent part singing. Past appearances by the ensemble have included Walt Disney World, the Bay Area Idol Talent competition, and as the opening act for Maroon 5! Enrollment is by audition only. Students are placed in our multi-level Jazz Track based on their knowledge of music theory, instrument proficiency, and jazz improvisation skills. This class uses music play activities that combine song and movement designed to increase your child’s natural curiosity about music. One parent per child is required. Kids Make Music 2 ~ Explore Musical Concepts and Instruments

Based on the “My Seashore Community” curriculum, these classes are designed to build attention span and self-expression and include singing, chanting, focused listening, music games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement and storytelling. Theater of Wonder
Ages: 3–5, Saturdays, 9:00–11:00 am Tuition per term: $150.00, text/materials fee: $29.77, including tax; Instructor: Ruth Ann Rauter Once upon a spring time….Our young ones come together to create a magical garden where butterflies are born! The child’s imagination, sense of wonder, creative intelligence and self-expression are nourished through song and dance, paint and play, story and drama. Children create their own picture books, wings and props, then dramatize The Butterfly Garden for family and friends on the last day of class.
Tiny Dancer: Ballet/Tap Combo
Ages: 4–6, Wednesdays, 5:15–6:15 pm; Tuition: $100.00; Instructor: TBA Children are taught the fundamentals and language of dance in general and ballet and tap in particular in a fun, playful atmosphere of encouragement, discipline and warmth. Emphasis is on correct placement and developing a love of dance.
Singing Stars
Ages: 6–9, Thursdays, 5:15–6:30 pm; Tuition per term: $125.00; Instructor: Tracy Torrance This course offers each child the readiness and skill set needed to prepare for performing by incorporating fun games to teach music literacy. Students enjoy singing a variety of entertaining, age-appropriate repertoire. This class culminates with a presentation at the end of the term.
Discover Drama!
Ages: 10–12, Tuesdays, 5:15–6:30 pm; Tuition per term: $125.00; Instructor: Nicole Haumesser Whether you are already a “ham” or just starting to explore life upon the stage, this acting class is full of fun. Portraying classic comic characters and dastardly villains becomes the basis for learning the fundamentals as students develop their “actor’s bag of tricks” and enter the wonderful world of stage performance.

From drawing to scripting to improvised performance, students learn to bring their own personal caped crusaders from storyboard to stage.

By rehearsing and performing solos, duets and group numbers, students become more experienced and confident. They also learn about the history of musical theater, a truly American art form.

Whether you’re new to acting or wish to take your theater training to a whole new level, our On Camera Acting class is an opportunity to learn and develop new skills, improve your auditioning process, and work with actual film and television scripts, as well as build your confidence and selfesteem. Ages: 13–18, Tuesdays, 5:30–7:00 pm Tuition per term: $135.00; Instructor: Ricky Laub Imagination and freedom are two of the young actor’s most valuable tools. And unlocking the toolkit is a ton of fun! The Preparatory Division classes for ages 7–19 are suitable for students who have talents they wish to develop through sequential study to prepare for college-level training and/or a career in the arts.
EXPLORATORY CLASSES
The Exploratory Division allows students from toddlers through adults to select classes that suit their interests. These 10-week courses offer opportunities to discover talents, explore interests and experience the arts.
