Dear Friends, Thank you for joining us for another Ruth Eckerd Hall Experience! Ruth Eckerd Hall was established over 35 years ago by a small group of community leaders with a vision to build a world class performing arts center. Their vision continues to unfold in spectacular ways that they could only have imagined. We are incredibly proud of our presentations at Ruth Eckerd Hall, the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre and the Murray Theatre, as well as Ruth Eckerd Hall on the Road’s festivals and concerts taking place throughout the region. We entertain visitors from 28 countries and it’s estimated that our activity has a $97M economic impact in the Tampa Bay region. We not only present the finest arts experiences but also deliver educational opportunities to over 45,000 students on-site and at 27 area schools and service organizations. And now, with the support of Pinellas County and the City of Clearwater, we debut our new Grande Lobby, home of the Kate Tiedemann and Ellen Cotton Cabaret Theatre, the Holt Family Stage, the renovated two-story Hoffman Dress Circle Lounge and the Raymond James Financial Central Ticket Office. Plus we will soon break ground to transform our east-side café space into the England Family Music Pavilion! All of these names tell the story of what is possible when generous individuals, corporations and public agencies recognize the value of the arts in the life of our community. They continue to attest that Ruth Eckerd Hall is much, much more than bricks and mortar. The founders’ spirit of collaboration to enrich the local arts culture is a living, breathing, effort that will continue for another 35+ years. And at the very heart of this non-profit, is the mission we serve – changing lives through the performing arts. On behalf of the Ruth Eckerd Hall family of members, sponsors, donors, volunteers, community partners, and staff, welcome and enjoy the show!

Beauty

Often considered the finest achievement of the classical ballet, Sleeping Beauty takes inspiration from a well-known fairy tale. An evil fairy condemns a princess to die on her sixteenth birthday, but the Lilac Fairy saves the child by declaring the injury will merely put the princess to sleep until awakened by a prince’s kiss
