The complete range consists of 80 colours

The range The range of Rembrandt water colours consists of 80 colours with the highest possible degree of transparency and a balanced distribution across the various colour areas. 78 colours have the highest degree of lightfastness. The high concentration of pigmentation and extremely fine grinding result in an optimal tinting strength. All colours are based on the purest of qualities of Gum Arabic. A number of colours explained:

CHINESE WHITE Chinese white is the traditional white within the water colour range. It is based on semi-transparent zinc oxide pigment. TRANSPARENT TITANIUM WHITE A highly transparent white based on transparent titanium white pigment. For applying white thinned transparent layers. CADMIUM AND COBALT COLOURS Durable colours used due to their high degree of lightfastness. Due to the specific pigment, cadmium and cobalt colours are less transparent than other colours in the range. HIGHLY LIGHTFAST AND TRANSPARENT YELLOWS AND REDS The Azo yellows, Permanent yellows and Permanent reds are lightfast and highly transparent alternatives for the traditional cadmium colours. Moreover, their colours are purer. PERMANENT MADDERS The range includes two traditional madders (no. 326 and 331) of which the lightfastness is less than that of other colours. In addition, the range offers four lightfast alternatives, the â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;permanent maddersâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;.

PHTHALO BLUES Extremely intense phthalo blues with a red or green undertone. TRANSPARENT IRON OXIDES A series of extremely transparent and highly lightfast earth hues. GRANULATING COLOURS With granulating colours the particles of pigment tend to cluster. This results in a characteristic effect. On the colour chart they have been indicated with a G. STRONGLY ADHESIVE COLOURS Some very fine pigments adhere so strongly to water colour paper that they are not that easy to remove using sponge or wash techniques. These colours have been indicated with a u. LESS TRANSPARENT COLOURS The finer a pigment in the paint is ground, the more transparent the colour. Due to the extremely fine grinding of the pigments all Rembrandt water colours are as transparent as possible. The degree of transparency, however, is first and foremost a property of the pigment itself. As a result there may be a difference in colour between the colours. COLOUR INDEX For professional grades of paint we list the pigments used. The pigment is indicated by letters and figures according to the Colour Index. The Colour Index is an international system which allows one to check which pigments are used in a particular colour and what the properties of that pigment are. The letters stand for a particular colour, the figures give the specific type of pigment. For example: PW6 = Pigment White, 6 = Titanium dioxide. The following pigment designations are currently used: PW = Pigment White PR = Pigment Red PG = Pigment Green

PY = Pigment Yellow PB = Pigment Blue PBr = Pigment Brown

PO = Pigment Orange PV = Pigment Violet PBk = Pigment Black

Rembrandt brushes The range of Rembrandt brushes also offers top-quality brushes for water colour technique. Every hair bundle is shaped by hand and set in a nickel-plated brass ferrule. Round pointed squirrel hair brushes were traditionally fitted onto the shaft of swan feathers. There is a choice of carefully selected natural hair types in various shapes and sizes. Auxiliaries Talens has a number of useful auxiliaries for water colours. Such as Liquid masking film, with which you can mask off areas which are to remain white in your water colour. Het assortiment Het assortiment Rembrandt aquarelverf bestaat uit 80 kleuren met de hoogst mogelijke transparantie en een evenwichtige verdeling over de verschillende kleurgebieden. 78 kleuren hebben de hoogste graad van lichtechtheid. De sterke pigmentering en extra fijne maling resulteren in een optimale kleurkracht. Alle kleuren zijn op basis van de zuiverste kwaliteit Arabische gom. Een aantal kleuren uitgelicht:

CHINEESWIT Chineeswit is het traditionele wit binnen een aquarelassortiment. Het wordt gemaakt op basis van het halftransparant zinkoxydepigment. TRANSPARANT TITAANWIT Een uitermate transparant wit op basis van transparant titaanwitpigment. Voor het aanbrengen van witte sluierlagen. CADMIUM- EN KOBALTKLEUREN Duurzame kleuren gebruikt vanwege hun hoge lichtechtheid. Door het specifieke pigment, zijn cadmium- en kobaltkleuren minder transparant dan andere kleuren in het assortiment. ZEER LICHTECHTE EN TRANÂSPARANTE GELEN EN RODEN De Azogelen, Permanentgelen en Permanentroden zijn lichtechte en zeer transparante alternatieven voor de traditionele cadmiumÂŹkleuren. Ze zijn bovendien zuiverder van kleur. PERMANENTE KRAPLAKKEN Het assortiment kent twee traditionele kraplakken (no. 326 en 331) waarvan de lichtechtheid minder is dan van de andere kleuren. Daarnaast biedt het assortiment vier lichtechte alternatieven, de

zogenaamde â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;permanentkraplakkenâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;. PHTALOBLAUWEN Zeer kleurkrachtige phtaloblauwen met een rode of groene ondertoon. TRANSPARANTIJZEROXYDES Een reeks uiterst transparante en zeer lichtechte aardtinten. GRANULERENDE KLEUREN Bij granulerende kleuren hebben de pigmentdeeltjes de eigenschap om zich in groepjes samen te trekken. Dat geeft een karakteristiek effect. Ze zijn op de kleurkaart aangegeven met een G. STERK HECHTENDE KLEUREN Sommige zeer fijne pigmenten hechten zich zo sterk in het aquarelpapier dat deze minder goed te verwijderen zijn met de zogenaamde spons- of uitwastechnieken. Deze kleuren zijn aangegeven met een u. MINDER TRANSPARANTE KLEUREN Hoe fijner een pigment in de verf wordt gemalen, hoe transparanter de kleur. Door de extra fijne maling van de pigmenten zijn alle Rembrandt aquarelkleuren dan ook zo transparant mogelijk. De mate van transparantie is echter in de eerste plaats een eigenschap van het pigment zelf. Hierdoor kan er tussen de kleuren onderling verschil zijn. De minder transparante kleuren zijn op de kleurkaart aangegeven met .

LICHTECHTHEID +++ = minimaal 100 jaar lichtecht onder museumomstandigheden (78 kleuren) + = 10 - 25 jaar lichtecht onder museumomstandigheden (2 kleuren) De lichtechtheid is getest volgens ASTM-Norm D4303. De afgebeelde kleuren benaderen zo dicht mogelijk de werkelijke kleuren. De cijfers 1 t/m 3 geven de prijsgroep aan = ook leverbaar in tube 20 ml u = sterk hechtende kleur (11 kleuren) G = granulerende kleur (11 kleuren die een speels korrelig effect geven) PY35 = gebruikte pigmenten = minder transparante kleur (26 kleuren) COLOUR INDEX Bij de professionele verfsoorten wordt het pigment vermeld dat in die verf is verwerkt. Dit pigment is met letters en cijfers aangeduid volgens de Colour Index. De Colour Index is een internationaal systeem, waarmee men kan nagaan welke pigmenten in een bepaalde kleur zitten en wat de eigenschappen van dit pigment zijn. De letters staan voor een bepaalde kleur, de cijfers geven het specifieke type pigment aan. Bijvoorbeeld: PW6 = Pigment White, 6 = Titanium dioxide. Rembrandt penselen Het assortiment Rembrandt aquarelpenselen biedt voor alle technieken penselen van topkwaliteit. Elke haarbundel is met de hand gevormd en gezet in een vernikkelde of vergulde messing huls. Rond gepunte eekhoornharen penselen zijn traditioneel gezet in de schacht van een zwanenveer. Er is een keuze uit zorgvuldig geselecteerde natuurlijke haarsoorten in diverse vormen en maten. Vraag naar de folder ‘Rembrandt penselen’ (no. 88590011).

Hulpmaterialen Voor aquarelverf heeft Talens enkele handige hulpmiddelen, zoals Liquid Masking Film voor het uitsparen van delen in de aquarel die wit moeten blijven. ervaring kennis en vakmanschap Rembrandt is het oudste kwaliteitsmerk van Royal Talens. De geschiedenis gaat terug tot 1899. Het jaar dat grondlegger Marten Talens in Apeldoorn zijn familiebedrijf begon. Rembrandt groeide vervolgens uit tot â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;s werelds meest gerenommeerde merk in olieverf, softpastels, acrylverf en aquarelverf voor de professionele kunstenaar. Marten Talens was een gepassioneerd man, voor wie alleen het beste goed genoeg was. Zijn enthousiasme en continue drang tot experimenteren en innoveren, leidde tot een onderscheidend, hoogwaardig productenpakket van professionele kwaliteit. Geheel in traditie van de Oud-Hollandse meesters lag de nadruk vooral op kleur, lichtechtheid en pigment. Eigenschappen die reeds in het begin van de twintigste eeuw door tal van kunstenaars uit zowel Europa als de VS en later ook Rusland, werden omarmd. Inmiddels levert Royal Talens het merk Rembrandt in meer dan 80 landen en behoort het tot de wereldtop, maar de productie vindt nog altijd plaats in Apeldoorn, Nederland. In ruim honderd jaar bouwde het merk Rembrandt een ongekende schat aan ervaring, kennis en vakmanschap op die wordt aangewend om te blijven innoveren. Das Sortiment Das Sortiment Rembrandt Aquarellfarbe besteht aus 80 Farben mit der höchstmöglichen Transparenz und einer ausgewogenen Verteilung über die verschiedenen Farbgebiete. 78 Farben haben den höchsten Lichtechtheitsgrad. Die starke Pigmentierung und eine extrafeine Vermahlung ergeben eine optimale Farbkraft. Alle Farben sind auf der Basis einer reinsten Qualität Gummi Arabicum hergestellt. Nachfolgend nähere Erläuterungen zu einigen Farbtönen:

CHINESISCHES WEISS Chinesisches Weiß ist ein traditioneller Weißton innerhalb eines Aquarellsortiments. Es wird auf der Basis von einem halbtransparenten Zinkoxidpigment hergestellt. TRANSPARENTES TITANWEIß Ein äußerst transparentes Weiß auf der Basis von transparentem Titanweißpigment. Für das Auftragen weißer Schleierschichten. KADMIUM- UND KOBALTFARBEN Langlebige Farben, die aufgrund ihrer hohen Lichtechtheit verwendet werden. Durch die spezifischen Pigmente sind Kadmium- und Kobaltfarben weniger transparent als andere Farben im Sortiment. SEHR LICHTECHTE UND TRANSPARENTE GELB- UND ROTTÖNE Die Azogelb-, Permanentgelb- und Permanentrottöne sind lichtechte und sehr transparente Alternativen für die traditionellen Kadmiumfarben. Darüber hinaus sind sie farbreiner. PERMANENTE KRAPPLACKE Das Sortiment beinhaltet zwei traditionelle Krapplacke (Nr.326 und 331), deren Lichtechtheit geringer als bei den anderen Farben ist. Daneben bietet das Sortiment vier lichtechte Alternativen, die sogenannten „Permanentkrapplacke“.

PHTHALOBLAUTÖNE Sehr farbintensive Phthaloblautöne mit einem roten oder grünen Unterton. TRANSPARENTEISENOXIDE Eine Reihe äußerst transparenter und sehr lichtechter Erdtöne. GRANULIERENDE FARBEN Bei granulierenden Farben haben die Pigmentteilchen die Eigenschaft, sich in Gruppen zusammenzuziehen. Das ergibt einen charakteristischen Effekt. Diese Farben werden auf der Farbkarte mit einem „G“ bezeichnet. STARK HAFTENDE FARBEN Manche sehr feine Pigmente heften sich so stark in das Aquarellpapier, dass sie weniger gut mit der sogenannten Schwamm- oder Auswischtechnik entfernbar sind. Diese Farben werden bezeichnet mit einem „u“. WENIGER TRANSPARENTE FARBEN Je feiner ein Pigment in der Farbe vermahlen wird, desto transparenter ist die Farbe. Aufgrund der extrafeinen Vermahlung der Pigmente sind alle Rembrandt Aquarellfarben demnach so transparent wie nur möglich. Der Transparenzgrad ist allerdings zunächst einmal eine Eigenschaft des Pigments selbst. Dadurch kann es zwischen den Farben einen Unterschied geben. Die Ziffern 1 - 3 bezeichnen die Preisgruppen = auch lieferbar in Tube 20 ml u = stark haftende Farbe (11 Farben) G = granulierende Farben (11 Farben, die einen locker körnigen Effekt bewirken) PY35 = verwendete Pigmente = weniger transparente Farbe (26 Farben) COLOUR INDEX Bei den professionellen Farbsorten wird das in der Farbe verarbeitete Pigment angegeben. Dieses Pigment wird nach dem Colour Index mit Buchstaben und Zahlen bezeichnet. Der Colour Index ist ein internationales System, mit dem festgestellt werden kann, welche Pigmente eine bestimmte Farbe enthält und welche Eigenschaften dieses Pigment hat. Die Buchstaben stehen für eine bestimmte Farbe, die Zahlen für einen speziellen Pigmenttyp. Zum Beispiel: PW6 = Pigment White, 6 = Titanium dioxide. Folgende Pigmentangaben sind gängig: PW = Pigment White PY = Pigment Yellow PO = Pigment Orange

Rembrandt Pinsel Das Sortiment Rembrandt Pinsel bietet auch für Aquarellfarben Pinsel in Spitzenqualität. Jedes Haarbündel wird in Handarbeit geformt und in eine vernickelte oder vergoldete Messingzwinge gesetzt. Pinsel mit rund in der Spitze zulaufendem Eichhornhaar werden traditionell in den Kiel einer Schwanenfeder gesetzt. Man hat die Wahl aus sorgfältig ausgesuchten natürlichen Haarsorten in diversen Formen und Größen. Fragen Sie nach der Broschüre „Rembrandt Pinsel” (Nr. 88590013).

Hilfsmaterialien Für Aquarellfarbe hat Talens einige praktische Hilfsmaterialien, zum Beispiel Liquid Masking Film (Maskierflüssigkeit), womit man Teile des Aquarells, die weiß bleiben sollen, abdecken und somit aussparen kann. L’assortiment L’assortiment aquarelle Rembrandt comprend 80 couleurs aussi transparentes que possible et réparties de façon équilibrée parmi les différentes nuances. 78 couleurs ont la meilleure résistance à la lumière. La haute pigmentation et le broyage extra fin donnent un pouvoir colorant optimal. Toutes les couleurs sont fabriquées à base de gomme arabique de la qualité la plus pure possible. Voici quelques couleurs :

BLANC DE CHINE Le Blanc de Chine est un blanc traditionnel dans l’assortiment aquarelle. Il est fabriqué à base du pigment blanc de zinc semitransparent. BLANC DE TITANE TRANSPARENT Un blanc extrêmement transparent à base du pigment blanc de titane transparent. Il est utilisé pour appliquer des voiles blanches. COULEURS CADMIUM ET COBALT Couleurs durables utilisées pour leur bonne résistance à la lumière. Grâce aux pigments spécifiques, les couleurs cadmiums et cobalt sont moins transparentes que les autres couleurs de l’assortiment. JAUNES ET ROUGES TRÈS RÉSISTANTS À LA LUMIÈRE ET TRANSPARENTS Les jaunes azo, jaunes permanents et rouges permanents sont très résistants à la lumière et ils sont une alternative parfaitement transparente pour les couleurs cadmium traditionnelles. De plus, ils ont des nuances plus pures. LAQUES DE GARANCE PERMANENTES L’assortiment comprend 2 laques de garance traditionnelles (326 et 331). Leur résistance à la lumière est inférieure à celle des autres couleurs. De plus, l’assortiment comprend 4 alternatives, parfaitement résistantes à la lumière. On les appelle les « laques de garance permanentes ».

BLEUS PHTALO Des bleus avec un fort pouvoir colorant et une sous-nuance rouge ou verte. OXYDE DE FER TRANSPARENT Une série de nuances de terre transparentes et durables. COULEURS GRANULEUSES Les couleurs granuleuses se caractérisent par des particules de pigment qui se regroupent. Cela donne un effet granuleux. Elles sont indiquées sur le nuancier par un « G ». COULEURS TRÈS ADHÉRENTES Certains pigments très fins adhèrent si rapidement au papier aquarelle, qu’ils ne s’enlèvent pas facilement à l’éponge. Ces couleurs sont indiquées par un : u. COULEURS MOINS TRANSPARENTES Plus le pigment est broyé finement, plus la couleur est transparente. Grâce au broyage extra fin des pigments, toutes les couleurs aquarelles Rembrandt sont aussi transparentes que possible. La gama La gama de acuarela Rembrandt consta de 80 colores con el grado de transparencia más elevado, con un buen equilibrio entre los diferentes campos cromáticos. Hay 78 colores con el grado más elevado de resistencia a la luz. Su fuerte pigmentación y su finísimo molido resultan en un poder colorante perfecto. Todos los colores se producen a base de goma arábiga de la calidad más pura. Algunos colores a destacar:

BLANCO DE CHINA Blanco de China es el blanco tradicional dentro de la gama de acuarela. Se elabora a base de pigmento de óxido de cinc que es semitransparente. BLANCO DE TITANIO TRANSPARENTE Un blanco altamente transparente elaborado a base de pigmento de blanco titanio transparente. Para la aplicación de capas blancas veladas. COLORES CADMIO Y COBALTO Colores duraderos que se usan por su alta resistencia a la luz. Su pigmento característico hace que los colores cadmio y cobalto sean menos transparentes que los otros colores de la gama. AMARILLOS Y ROJOS MUY RESISTENTES A LA LUZ Y MUY TRANSPARENTES Los amarillos azo, amarillos permanentes y rojos permanentes son alternativas muy sólidas y transparentes para los cadmios tradicionales. Además, su color es más puro. LACAS GRANZA PERMANENTES La gama cuenta con dos lacas granza tradicionales (n. ° 326 y 331) que tienen una resistencia a la luz más baja que los otros colores. Sin embargo, la gama cuenta también con cuatro alternativas más sólidas, las llamadas ‘lacas granza permanentes’.

AZULES FTALO Azules ftalo con alto poder colorante y de un matiz rojizo o verdizo. ÓXIDOS DE HIERRO TRANSPARENTES Una serie de tonalidades tierra altamente transparentes y muy sólidas. COLORES GRANULADOS En los colores granulados, las partículas de pigmento tienen la propiedad de agruparse en pequeños grupos. Es lo que les da ese efecto tan característico. Estos colores vienen indicados con una G en la carta de colores. COLORES MUY ADHERENTES Algunos pigmentos muy finos se adhieren tan fuertemente al papel de acuarela que se hace difícil eliminarlos en, por ejemplo, la técnica de deslavado o de esponja. Estos colores se indican con u en la carta de colores. COLORES MENOS TRANSPARENTES Cuanto más fino el molido del pigmento, más transparente el color. Por el finísimo molido de sus pigmentos, todos los colores de la acuarela Rembrandt tienen la máxima transparencia. Sin embargo, en primera instancia, el grado de transparencia es una propiedad del pigmento mismo, por lo que puede haber diferencia entre un color y otro. COLOUR INDEX En las pinturas profesionales se menciona el pigmento que se ha usado para su elaboración. El pigmento se indica por medio de letras y cifras según el Índice de Color (Colour Index). El Colour Index es un sistema internacional mediante el cual pueden averiguarse los pigmentos que contiene cada color y sus propiedades. Las letras indican un color determinado y las cifras el tipo específico de pigmento. Por ejemplo: PW6 = Pigment White, 6 = Titanium dioxide. Pinceles Rembrandt La gama de pinceles Rembrandt cuenta con pinceles para acuarela de alta calidad. Cada haz de pelo se forma a mano y también se inserta manualmente en una ferula niquelada o dorada. Los pinceles de pelo de ardilla de punta redonda se insertan según el método tradicional en caña de pluma de cisne.
