Globally, in developed as well as in developing countries, child mortality is on the decline and life expectancy on the rise. In 1960, 182 of every 1,000 children born died before turning five; today, that number is down to 43. A child born in 1960 could expect to live an average of just 52 years; by contrast, a child born this year can expect to live to 71. Then as now, the factors most likely to determine a child’s fate are set at birth: where he or she is born, the educational and economic condition of the family, the availability of medical care. Yet one of the most important advances in public health has reached every country and must now reach every child: immunization. The use of vaccines has, in many parts of the world, nearly eliminated diseases that once were widespread, such as diphtheria, tetanus, and rubella. Thanks to vaccines, 20 million lives have been saved from measles since 2000. Smallpox has been eradicated – and polio is next. Thirty years ago, there were an estimated 350,000 cases of polio per year worldwide. As this issue of The Rotarian went to press, only 37 cases of polio had been recorded in 2016 – the lowest number in history. All of the other cases, and the paralysis and death they would have brought, were prevented through the widespread use of a safe, reliable, and inexpensive vaccine. Overall, the World Health Organization estimates

that immunization prevents an estimated 2 million to 3 million deaths every year. It also averts a tremendous burden of disability and economic loss. Yet we could be doing so much better: An additional 1.5 million deaths could be avoided by improving vaccine coverage worldwide. This month, from 24 to 30 April, we join WHO, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in celebrating World Immunization Week, raising awareness of the incredible impact that vaccines have had on global health. This year’s theme is “Vaccines Work” – and they do. Increased use of vaccines has broader repercussions for public health: controlling viral hepatitis, reducing both the need for antibiotics and the development of antibiotic-resistant microbes, and reaching more children and adolescents with essential health interventions. In every part of the world, routine immunization is as crucial as ever to ensure that all children have the best chance at a healthy future. In an uncertain world, vaccines offer something remarkable: a way to protect our children throughout their lives. By working together to safeguard all children against polio and other preventable diseases, Rotary is truly Serving Humanity – now and for generations to come. Sincerely

John Germ President Rotary International 2016-2017

We answer the question “What is Rotary?” with our actions, by making a difference through our service.

ROTARY: MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Some years ago, a new acquaintance asked me what should have been a simple question: “What is Rotary?” I opened my mouth to reply and then stopped short with the realization that I simply did not know where to begin. The problem wasn’t that I didn’t know what Rotary was. The problem was that Rotary was — and is — too large and complex to easily define. We are a member-based organization, a club-based organization, and a servicebased organization; we are local, regional, and international; we are community members, businesspeople and professionals, working and retired, active in nearly every country in the world. Every one of our 1.2 million members has a unique set of goals, experiences, and priorities; every one of us has a unique understanding of Rotary. To me, Rotary is defined not by who we are, but by what we do — by the potential that Rotary gives us, and the ways we realize that potential in meaningful and lasting service. Rotary has been around for a long time: 112 years. In some ways, we’ve changed tremendously, as we’ve grown, matured, and adapted to the changing needs of our members and communities. In our fundamentals, however, we remain the same: an organization of people with the desire — and through Rotary, the ability — to make a difference in our communities, and the world.

As an organization, we recognize how important it is that the world understand what Rotary is, and what we do. At the same time, we know that it is more important than ever to allow our clubs to define Rotary service for themselves. As Rotarians, we have more flexibility than ever to decide how we want our clubs to meet, work, and grow. We’re focused more than ever on making sure that Rotary reflects the people it serves, with more women and a more diverse membership. And we’re working hard to ensure that Rotary remains the world’s pre-eminent volunteer service organization, by emphasizing long-term planning, sustainable service, and continuity in leadership on every level. In 2017-18, we will answer the question “What is Rotary?” with the theme Rotary: Making a Difference. However each of us chooses to serve, we do it because we know our service makes a difference in the lives of others. Whether we are building a new playground or a new school, improving medical care or sanitation, training conflict mediators or midwives, we know that the work we do will change people’s lives — in ways large and small — for the better. Whatever motivation each of us had for joining Rotary, it is the satisfaction we find in Rotary that causes us to remain, the satisfaction of knowing that week by week, year by year, we are part of Rotary: Making a Difference.

REM Ljubljana Autumn 2017 is a great opportunity to see old friends, meet new friends from all over Europe. We will organize an event where you will be able to learn new things through workshops, see the beauty of Slovenia during excursions and have a lot of fun in the evenings. Our theme is green. Ljubljana was the European Green Capital in 2016, therefore our focus is on nature and environment. You might want to know a few facts about our green Slovenia. Slovenia is one of the most environmentally conscious countries in the world and it is a country of forests. More than a half of Slovenia is covered with forests, which means that nearly every city lies next to a forest. Wildlife in Slovenian forests is very diverse, which means you can find everything from brown bears, wolves, lynxes, deer, foxes to eagles, hawks, woodpeckers and so on. Water in Slovenia is drinkable and it is of good quality, therefore you can drink tap water. As REM Ljubljana Autumn 2017 will be all about “green” all the events will be held in the walking distance from the hotels, so there will be a minimum need for cars and buses, which will minimize the air pollution during the meeting. The Welcome Reception will be held at Ljubljana Castle on top of the hill, surrounded by nature and with an incredible view of the city and the mountains if the weather will be kind to us.You will also be able to taste traditional Slovenian food, which will be bought from Slovenian farmers. The theme of the Gala Dinner will also be “green” and you will experience a green fairy tale on that evening. The organizing committee will make sure that you will enjoy Ljubljana and Slovenia to its fullest and that this will be an event that you will remember for a long time. We are looking forward to seeing you in Ljubljana!

Don’t forget to register for REM Ljubljana http://www.rem2017ljubljana.org

The greenest REM of ‘em all

Surrounded by the sea and the mountains in the middle of Europe lies a small country Slovenia with a capital city Ljubljana. This is where the Rotaract European Meeting (REM) will take place from October 5-8, 2017.

BUY ONE MORE

The World Rotaract Week 2017 (13-19, March) became a special period for Rotaract clubs in Europe. This year we organized the first joint social project and we are proud of the clubs participated! The project - BUY ONE MORE - took place in different cities and countries. The idea of the project – to ask customers to Buy One More item during their regular shopping – is quite easy and many clubs supported it immediately. As a result, we are glad to announce that almost 50 clubs from 12 countries sent us their great outcome! And they collected approximately 1.300 boxes that were given away to different organizations in need. We would like to thank every Rotaract club that managed to organize this project! We proved that we are one big and strong network. And during the Gala dinner at the Rotaract European Convention 2017 in Warsaw we will highlight the biggest impact made. So, stay tuned!

The Annual Austrian-Bosnian MDPC

Multi-District Presidential Conference

From March 31st to April 2nd the annual Austrian-Bosnian MDPC took place in Klagenfurt. MDPC is short for Multi-District Presidential Conference and is nothing else than our most important annual conference. It might be nothing else than that and still it is special. First, you need to know that Austria consists of two districts. District 1910, which comprises the Eastern part of Austria and District 1920 which is the Western part of Austria. However, it is not as simple as you might assume at first sight. The District 1910 is not only made up by the Eastern part of Austria but also includes the entire country of Bosnia-Hercegovina. So there is District 1920 (Austria West) and District 1910 (Austria East and Bosnia-Hercegovina). You might be surprised why two different countries that are not even connected geographically form one district. Honestly, your surprise is absolutely understandable, as this connection is totally unique in the world of Rotary. But once upon a time, a district was formed that included Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia as well as Austria East. But Rotary grew and so Hungary, Slovenia and Croatia became independent districts. What was left with its now totally unique structure was the District 1910, now consisting of Austria East and Bosnia-Hercegovina. So far about the structure of Rotary.

Austia

On top of this, the structure of Rotaract slightly defers. Why else would there be a “Multi-District Presidential Conference”? On the level of Rotaract the Districts 1910 and 1920 become one. District 1920 will soon consist of six Rotaract Clubs. One of them partially meets in Germany and one is yet to be chartered. For Rotaract newbies this structure is slightly difficult to understand, but once you understood this, it is possible to start to work together. This is exactly what happens in the Rotaract MultiDistrict 1910/1920. Maybe we do not share a common language, nor a national boarder yet our cooperation works, better than ever before. On the European level each country has one Country Representative. Our multi-district board has lately been restructured and now officially comprises someone who is in charge of the cooperation of the two countries.

Last year we therefore met in Tuzla (Bosnia). Austrians are always welcome in BosniaHercegovina as wells as they are very happy to welcome Bosnians. The mobile app that was developed lately comprises all contact details of Rotaractors and Rotarians in both countries and helps us to connect, stay in touch and do common projects.

Luckily, some Bosnians live in Austria and are familiar with both languages and cultures. This way we can ensure that information is spread in both national languages. According to the percentage of Rotaractors we decided that every third year our conference should be held in Bosnia-Hercegovina.

During the last years, a lot of work has been done to strengthen the relationship within our multi-district. We do our best to cross boarders within Rotaract … at least we cross the Slovenian and the Croatian border every time one of our members travels to Bosnia-Hercegovina to visit our district outside Austria.

Bulgaria Sound of Silence How did everything start? Back in 2011 we started a campaign to improve the condition at the the Bulgarian Secondary School with kindergarten for Deaf children “Prof.Decho Denev and to focuses public attention on the challenges people who are hard of hearing face and raises the Bulgarian public’s awareness of hearing health. We were participants in funds raising for the new “Kids Corner” in the school. It is the only one in Bulgaria that is currently operating and that offers full boarding for children all over the country. In 2013 we donated video materials and spent one day in watching cartoons with the kids. Visiting the boarding school we realized in what misery they have to live and what poor educational environment they have, missing all modern techniques that the other developed European countries use to teach deaf children. We decided that this broke the equal opportunity for life and cut all chances of that people for normal life. Bulgarian Deaf Federation cannot help as much as they want due to the economic situation in the country. So we decided to provide more information for the society about these people and show them at loud and speak for their actual needs. Description of the project: From the end of 2015 we are working on our initiative in the Bulgarian Secondary School with kindergarten for Deaf children “Prof.Decho Denev” by ponsoring purchase of o Specialized hardware and specially developed learning materials o Video Projector, Laptop and Interactive Board o Varity of educational magnet tables, created especially for that school targeting the different grades of students, developed by psychologists and teachers from that area. o Different type of paper dictionaries, necessary in the daily teaching classes o Specialized literature o Maps of the Bulgarian history necessary for History lessons.

Participating Clubs: / Rotaract Sofia-Tangra / Rotaract Brussels Coudenberg Intl. Duration: 2 years with hope for long term improvement Motivation Behind Project: At present, more than 120,000 people in Bulgaria have various degrees of hearing loss. A large part of them rely mainly on sign language as a means of daily communication and the need for professional sign language interpreters is ever growing. Providing funds: Donation boxes, Funds from Rotaract Coudenberg, Fundrasing from the Birthday event hosted by Rotary. Rotaract and Interact Sofia- Tangra in June 2016.

Projected goals: Assisting with the renovation and the update of the classrooms will facilitate the tutoring process by helping the teachers and deaf children to have better environment for their classes, responding to the update in the technological world. There are new techniques that can help the deaf person to better understand and learn the surrounding world and easily finding a way to fit in the constantly changing world environment. Results: In April 2017 we successfully finished the project with an international visit in the school. Part of the Brussels’s club and Rotaract Sofia Tangra members, visited regular classes in the school of deaf kids in Sofia to observe how the materials we provided are implemented in the process and to monitor what additional help would be needed to continue improvement. We were invited to attend English Lesson class where the kids we using the interactive Board among with the projector and the laptop we provided. The principle advised us that with this first step of the innovation of the methods, the school would be able to apply for full innovative equipment using European programs. With the magnet packages, the teachers are easily approaching the students and are managing to keep them involved and interested in the class.

Bosnia & Herzegovina

What is Rotaract in Bosnia and Herzegovina? It’s a very dificult question, but I will try to explain it.Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country of diference. Country where three diferent nations live togedher, with different languages, names and religions. Rotaract in this country show us that we are all the same people, between all our differences we live, breath and belong togedher. Rotaract makes us one beautiful comunity. It show us that we are the same and that we are eaqual, and the name of Rotaract is above all our differences. We love it. Small, but rich Rotaract comunity in Bosnia and Herzegovina had done so much beautiful projects, and all of them with same purpose: helping others who need our help the most, witouth asking for nationality or religion. Rotaract is love, solidarity, humanity but friendship above all.

Cyprus

After 4 years of hard work, challenges and collaboration, this project finally came to life... On Saturday 12th of November 2016 we were delighted to finally present our MerryGo-Round playground toy specially designed for disabled people at the formal inauguration. This new addition to the Spyros Kyprianou Park, in Aglantzia, Nicosia marked Rotaract Club of Nicosia’s commitment to serving our local community and a reminder to always look for ways to support everyone in our community and provide, especially children, equal access to playground activities! We were more than excited to finalize and present to the public this four-year endeavour which came to reality after a long straggle of four Rotaract Presidents in a row: Niovi Georgiade, Antonia Hadjicosta, Annie Michaelides and Maria Ioannidou. Special thanks have to be given to our Project collaborators ‘Spyros Houtris & Sons Ltd’ and ‘Angalia Elpidas Non Profit Organisation’ for their continuous efforts of bringing this project in to reality.

Rotaract Cyprus supports a GREEN world! Following a devastating fire in the summer of 2016, Rotaract Cyprus, which includes 10 clubs, organized a tree planting project (aka reforestation) in the severely affected Solea area of the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus. More than 350 trees were planted.

Hope for Children Friendly Football Match On Sunday 12th March 2017, the Rotaract Club of University of Nicosia carried out part of their MED MDIO, MED Love project. The club members played a friendly football match with the residents of the Hope for Children shelter. The teenagers from the shelter were very excited to meet us and played a very competitive and excellent match. Even though the weather was awful with strong winds and hailstones this did not stop their passion for football! The Hope for Children Shelter teenagers have requested that we play more often with them as they had a fantastic time. Our next match will be at the end of April.

‘Hope for Children’ Shoe Donation Campaign

As part of our club’s MED MDIO, MED Love project we are collecting shoes to donate to the ‘Hope for Children’ Shelter in Nicosia. As the shelter is occupied by more than 40 teenagers who are growing and need new shoes often; the shelter requested our help for more shoes. We advertised the campaign to our members, on our Facebook page, around the University of Nicosia, St George’s Medical school and to our mother Rotary club. So far we have collected over 50 shoes! We are aiming to collect more by the end of May when we will be donating the shoes to the shelter.

‘Fun Activities Day’ with the Children at the Kofinou Refugee Centre On Saturday 18th March, the Rotaract Club of University of Nicosia organized a ‘Fun Activities Day’ with the Children at the Kofinou Refugee Centre in the Larnaca district. Volunteers from the club bought toys and equipment to carry out fun activities such as face painting, arts and crafts, bracelet making, lego, ball games and puzzles to play with the children at the Refugee centre. The event was a great success! Over 30 children took part from ages ranging from 2years old to 17years old. The children really enjoyed their time and were very excited to see us. They even asked us to make another visit soon! We hope to carry more events like this in the near future.

The Rotaract Club University of Nicosia would like to promote educational presentation to younger students in order to give back to the community and help inspire young minds. The club is also working hard to set up an Interact Club at the American International School to get young people involved in the Interact and Rotaract Family. On Wednesday 1st March 2017, the club presented at the American International School on ‘Healthy Lifestyle’ to over 40 middle school students. We covered topics on healthy eating, exercise, bad habits such as smoking, drugs, alcohol and how to manage stress. The presentation was a great success as we got great feedback not only by the school staff but also from the students!

France Doing good : from home

Breakfast Action The Toulouse Rotaract Club, initiated in 1968, is the oldest active club in France. For the 3rd time, it organized a “Breakfast action”. The idea is simple “doing a good action, without moving from home” For only 5 euros, the Rotaract Club delivered breakfasts at home. The deliveries occured on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th March from 8 o’clock to noon.

In partenership with the “Boulangerie au pain de mon grand-père”, the Rotaract’s members delivered baskets with two pastries, half a baguette and one orange juice. The money collected during this action was donated to a humanitarian mission which promotes literacy to a Malagasy village. Last year with the same action, the Rotaract Club financed the construction of a bakery roof in cucuta village, in Colombia. Thanks to everybody’s participation, customers and Rotaract Club, we managed to please many beneficiaries. See you soon for new deliveries ! -

Lyon International Badminton Programme Some of our flagship actions: The presence of members on the “Chalet du Père Noël place Carnot”, participation in the action “Gives a toy”, the sale of hot wine during the “Festival of Lights”, taking part in the food bank And in “Glisse en Cœur”, the “Latino evening”, wine and cheese tasting, and many other fundraising and material organizations for the benefit of local and international organizations. This year, our club has chosen the “LIV & LUMIERE” association for the benefit of which we organize this tournament.

What is “Liv & Lumière”? Created in Limonest (Rhône), in 2013, the LIV & LUMIERE association is fighting to advance research on pediatric cancers. Less than 2% of funds dedicated to research are allocated to pediatric cancers. Every year, nearly 2,500 new born children and adolescents are diagnosed with cancer and almost 500 die from terrible suffering. The association’s goal is to raise funds to help oncologist researchers. The association also supports children and families on a daily basis in their struggle, by funding animations and dreams through other associations (On the Road to Happiness, Dreams, Orchids ...), participating in socio- Aesthetics (wigs, hair care for the regrowth of hair) and thus accompany the child in his social and school reintegration.

Our Project: To organize a charity badminton tournament to raise funds to support the association “LIV & LUMIERE to help fund projects that improve the daily lives of children with cancer. This tournament will be an opportunity for some children of the association to be present and participate in the event. When and where does it take place? On the Saturday the 11th of June, we organize our badminton tournament in the Halle des Sports Vivier Merle in Lyon. The event will be open to a hundred participants. We propose three competitions: double ladies, double gentlemen, mixed doubles. During the day: drinks, raffle, presentation of our associations, awarding prizes to the winners.

The Rotaract Club Lyon International has been created in 1994 and composed by young people between the ages of 18 and 30 who work for the benefit of others by taking actions, donating their time, raising funds.

Danube Delta Project

Doing good is the main driver for Rotaract. As an international club we wanted to organize an international project and the first location to do so was Romania. After a thorough organization (getting in contact with the school and seeing what they needed, searching for donations in order to be able to acquire the needed materials or getting donations directly in the form of goods), eight members of the Frankfurt/MainInternational club departed towards Romania. The journey started in Bucharest and, after a half-day trip through the Dobrogea region by car, we reached Murighiol. Here we had to load everything in a boat as Crisan, the place where the project took place, can only be reached in this manner. After a boat trip full of thrills, a big scare, lots of rain and a thunderstorm on the night’s sky, we managed to reach our accommodation. We planned to visit the school the next day, but because of the rain we postponed the visit for 24 hours. .

The school had 10 children enrolled in kindergarten, 13 elementary school children and 15 secondary school children. The classes were carried together for different grades because of the reduced numbers The teachers were very dedicated and made sure that everyone got the attention they needed. We prepared backpacks filled with books, sweets and other materials for each of them and we had several donations for the school. We spend some time with the children and learnt about their everyday activities, we managed to break the ice and get past the language barrier. The older children started the trend and then the younger ones also joined the discussion. They were in the middle of an ethics class before we arrived, discussing the values a ‘good person’ should have and it was a very nice lesson to re-learn the concepts through the eyes of the innocent. We took advantage of the good weather and took several trips around the area, visiting the delta, the Letea forest, the old port of Sulina and we also went out on the Black Sea. Our visit to Romania ended with a two-days stay at the Black Sea, enjoying the beach, visiting Constanta and meeting new friends from the Rotaract and Interact Constanta. All in all it was a humbling experience, giving a helping hand, discovering new places, meeting new people and spending time with the club members. We are looking forward to the 2017 edition.

UK & Ireland Oxford Rotaract Celebrates World Rotaract Week

In March Oxford Rotaract celebrated World Rotaract Week at The Britannia pub in Headington, Oxford and organised a number of fun activities.

One of the activities included creating a colourful banner where Rotaractors wrote down answers to the question: “What Does Rotaract Mean to You”. All club members were also given the task to write down why they decided to join Rotaract. Some of their answers included to meet new people, volunteer, help out in the local community, and raise money for charity. Another activity that the members of Oxford Rotaract took part in was splitting into teams to create their own videos using the subject: “Celebrating Rotaract”. Each team had 20 minutes to plan and make their videos where they had to talk about Rotaract and the wonderful work it does.

DOGOODERY

The first ever Rotaract evening event ended with 200 people singing Merry Christmas Everybody by Slade under an impressive array of Christmas lights…in the middle of June. It had been Robert Smyth Academy Comedy Club creator and Rotaract Market Harborough president Chris Wells’ dream to hold a Christmas concert in the middle of June for many years. ‘Just to see everyone’s face’ he said. Taking place on June 25th 2016 the music & comedy event at Robert Smyth Academy was arranged with Market Harborough Rotaract to give Smyth’s Comedy Club’s student members a final night to perform in before Chris left his role with the Academy. After many extremely successful pub quiz nights, Rotaract Market Harborough wanted to expand the scope of their events. In keeping with Rotaract’s ideals, it was also a night to raise money for multiple great causes, including for member Anthony Pollard to achieve his dream of attending the extremely expensive and prestigious National Youth Theatre; which has such Daniel-named alumni as Daniel Craig and Daniel Day-Lewis. Anthony had actually joined Rotaract after he had been a member of the Comedy Club up to and after he had finished his studies. The night was jam packed full of young (16-20) stand-up comedians talking about everything from the use of language in modern society, the EU and an unputdownable book on Anti-Gravity.

There was a load of outstanding improv comedy, one of which ended in Anthony Pollard having his head shaved by an Icelandic barber with a taste for heads. To prove to the audience he was worth raising money for, Anthony performed a timely monologue from the unfinished Shakespeare play ‘Sir Thomas More’ that left the audience speechless. Ex-students Ryan Auld (aged 16) and Reuben Wisner (20) came back to blow everybody away with their amazing musical talents. Reuben has an EP available online here: https:// reubenwisner.bandcamp.com/album/any-love Chris Wells had this to say: ‘it’s a testament to the power of people to come together to provide so much DOGOODERY to the world, whether it be monetary, in time and organisation or even just these opportunities for folk to share their amazing hidden talents. I can't describe how amazing the event went, every act was just so spot on perfect it was unreal. All the pieces seemed to fit together forming something far greater than the sum of its parts. Not just on stage, but backstage too, I cannot thank enough every single person who put in their own time/effort/patience to make one of the best nights of my life.’ Claire Parsons, a member of the audience had this to say: ‘It was a phenomenal evening (my sides hurt the following morning!!) and I was so pleased to be able to be there to witness it. The music was terrific, the improv was inspired, Anthony's monologue was exceptional and the stand-up left me in awe of both their nerve and their supreme talent. I came in expecting great things and was utterly blown away.’ A total of (no joke) £666 pounds was raised for amazing causes. Anthony was able to hit his target and attend The National Youth Theatre. He returned with a head full of knowledge, and a further thirst to help give service above self. Rotaract Market Harborough are in discussions to develop further events possible later on in 2017. There will also be an independent documentary on the event and Comedy Club as a whole later on in the year.

Friendship Camp it’s a service which is implemented every year since 1992. This week is entirely organized by 10 clubs of District 2042 and it’s dedicated to 10-12 guys with disabilities who participate accompanied by educators or relatives. It aims to give them the opportunity to spend a week full of fun and healthful integration. The recruitment of participants occurs through the contact of some Associations who decide to let a couple of their guys to participate. They change every year, in order to give the opportunity to everyone to have this experience. The location is Villa Maggio situated in Lecco, a shelter home where boys and educators can lodge and where take place evening activities. The organization of a single day is responsibility of one or more clubs and activities proposed are various: visit the zoo, the African Museum, sailing boat trips, hippotherapy, bowling, bingo, activities with clay, karaoke, confectionery and gardening. Camp is an extraordinary solidarity project, which succeeds in uniting ten Clubs and through whom all Rotaract values come alive. It is always qualified as a complete service, which let you to show real Rotaract values that are shared by every member. It promotes the growth of each participant and offers moments of happiness to those who are less fortunate. It’s concrete and ambitious, unique in the essence, incredible in results.

Rotaract Bergamo Rotaract Bergamo, chartered in 1968, has organized the Friendship Camp since the first edition. Together with other Rotaractors, our members accompany the guys in daily trips and they participate to evening events. As organizer Club we allocate a yearly grant, increased by special events. For instance, on the present year we have carried out a charity sale of Panettone, a typical Italian Christmas cake, supporting this important 2042 District Service. Rotaract Bergamo Città Alta Some experiences are very hard to explain because the emotions that you feel can overwhelm you, and our service Friendship Camp, is one of these experiences. All clubs of District 2042 help, financially and in human terms, a group of 15-20 disabled children - including helpers - to enjoy a holiday week. Our club raised money for the Camp during the year selling cake and bisques around our town, and during the Camp we all spent a day with all the children in a Zoo, and during the evening we had dinner with them and we sang all together at the karaoke. We had a very great and intensive day and we cannot wait to see them again next year. Rotaract Brianza Nord The Camp is a unique experience and a whirlwind of emotions, is something that helps those who are housed, but also the organizers. At the presentation, they do not only know the guests, but also those who want to lend a hand. It was there all along, to play, to make jokes, and the apparent barriers disappear in front of a laugh. Everything is transformed by games in the desire to be together, where everyone wins...Wins happiness! Rotaract Cantù Friendship Camp is for our club the most enjoyable service of the year, all members look forward to participate to that amazing event. Interactions with these guys are direct and genuine, without all the filter we are used to. Emotions are extremly powerful and we rediscover how magical a hug or a smile can be. The traditional activities that our club organize are: a morning of clown therapy where the guys are entertained with games and jokes and an evening of fun with karaoke: sit in a circle and accompanied by a guitar singing loudly old Italian songs ! The camp never stops to astonish and this is the secret of its success so far! Rotaract Como Have a part in Friendship Camp week is something that can really change your vision of life: it’s something that you carry in your heart forever. Spend a week together with other rotaractors from different Clubs, all together engaged to work toward a common goal: have fun together with our special guests, understanding their needs, sharing experiences, meals, activities on a holiday atmosphere is an appointment that should not be missed! In the last 25 years this project gave the unique opportunity to make smiles and built positive experiences. I am more than proud and honored that my Club had a part on it!! Rotaract Erba Laghi Each year since 2008, our Club raises funds for our Camp through a fully-served dinner cooked by ourselves. We think it’s the best way to show everybody that we aren’t afraid to roll up our sleeves to build up something we believe in. Rotaract Lecco Friendship Camp is the most important service that my club has done and I’m very proud to contribute every year in his realization. Our guests become immediately our friends and we enjoy the holiday week togeter like a family. This beautiful service is very important for us Rotaractors, because it unites us for a shared aim: be a gift to the world. Rotaract Merate Our main purpose is to help and to serve and we totally achieve it during the Friendship Camp week. Generally we manage one day where guests can experience hippotherapy and other activities in the nature. The most challenging part is to raise found and we mainly do this by selling cakes or flowers or by crowd founding. The feeling that surprised us most was understanding that at the end of that day were us who learnt the most and we have to thank those guests. Rotaract Monza Friendship Camp is one of the most important services for my club. To sustain this project we need to organize, during the whole year, fund-raising events on different themes. Each member of the club puts himself out there in the organization, but it’s worthy because during the week of the camp we donate indelible memories to all the participants and we receive in return smiles of joy from them.

District 2110 serving legality! District 2110 (Sicily and Malta), thanks to its DRR Andrea Chiovo, adopted as a theme for the year “legality and culture of ethics. The aim was to educate the youth to the values of ethics and legality, and the theme was put into practice through three main projects: the shooting of a short movie, a photo contest, and a creative writing contest. The call was sent to all high schools in Sicily and the winners will win a scholarship to enrol in a Sicilian University next year. The clubs also organizes conferences, seminars and meetings with professionals, judges, scholars and people from the insitutions and security forces, to discuss about legality and ethics but also to promote the project in the schools. The project was coordinated by Tiziana di Trapani (club Palermo Mediterraneo) and Federico Scalisi (club Catania Ovest), together with the district members Filippo, Giuseppe, Grazia, Annamaria, Dalmazzo, Pippo e Biagio.

Italian Rotaractors and friends go to New York! At least 85 considering aspiring and effective members have been to NYC for the cwMUN How many Italians do you need to reach NYC during the march snowstorm? I don’t know, but 85 were far enough to enjoy a really nice week, lots of us have signed in to be “delegates” and enjoy the cwMUN (“change the world Model United Nations”) organized in partnership with the “Associazione Diplomatici”, while others have preferred to be there as “guests” enjoying more free time in the Big Apple. The cwMUN is a simulation of real reunions and assemblies at the Headquarters of the UN which has been particularly interesting for political science and law students, the whole project has involved 2200 people from all over the world and I am rather happy to say that all of the Italian Districts have been represented in this wonderful experience. We should never forget that the United Nations is somehow our home too, considering that the Rotary International has his own representative and chair since the early ‘50s of the last century. This trip has been and occasion to bond friendships between members and meet new people, for this reason in particular I would like to thank Giovanni Paolo Rabai from the Vigevano Rotary Club for organizing every single detail of the week that we have all enjoyed. I am a proud 2090 District member and, since we were the district with more subscribers, we have had the honor to organize and event (we choose to theme it “Gossip Girl” style) there, raise funds for our national service project and meet with local american clubs: that has been a great experience too and I would like to thank Chiara Greci (my RRD) for trusting me in this, Filomena Nigro and Ronny Davila for helping me stateside. We have enjoyed a nice tour of the city and the museums, some of us revealed themselves as rooftop-bars and pubs explorers while others seemed more attracted by shopping: the most important thing has been doing all of this together, showing a true family bond and a proud fellowship sensation. Nicola Laurora NYC trip Delegate for District 2090, Pescara Ovest, Italy

On 25th March 2017, Rotaract Malta La Valette have organised a fundraising event to contribute to the Global project of Rotary End Polio now campaign. A sum of 1477eur was raised for this event which was held at Panorama Lounge in Valletta which will go to the global fund to end polio. On 2nd April 2017, the club organised an environmental activity for the children residing at Dar Merhba Bik where

they did crafts related to the environment and were given pots and a seed to take care of which will eventually grow into a tree to be planted in a garden. There are upcoming projects and events that our club is organising during this year as well which includes a twinning project with Rotaract Club Firenze PHF in aid of MOAS and the first edition of the Entrepreneurship Seminar: Work Hard Play Hard which will be held on the 17th of June.

Moldova Members of the Rotaract Club Chisinau have one more reason to book tickets and attend the EUCO Warsaw 2017. This is because of the Best Twin Club Award, in which Rotaract Club Chisinau was nominated among the finalists.

Last year, as a result of a fruitful cooperation, Rotaract Brussels Coudenber International from Belgium, together with Rotaract Club Chisinau, renovated the playground and the fence of the kindergarten no. 145 from Chisinau (Moldova). Due to the generous financial support of Rotaract Brussels Coudenber International, this project was implemented and finished with success. Today we have more than 130 children that are playing in a safe, educative and amusing kindergarten. This very project was nominated within the 5 Best Twin Club Awards at the European level. Rotaractors of the both clubs have high hopes regarding the final voting stage and aspire to be a great international example of Rotaract Twinning for other Rotaract Clubs.

Montenegro Rotaract club Podgorica and Rotaract club Budva joined forces once again and successfully completed the European rotaract social project “buy one more” – BOM. Members of two clubs were positioned at the entrance and inside the supermarkets. With a big smile they approached costumers and introduced them “Buy One More” project and invited them to take a part in it. Numerous people were happy to be part of such a noble social project and donated some groceries. Little by little our groceries baskets were filled with food which was, later on, packed in banana boxes (1 box = 20kg). This project was crowned with an amazing feeling, knowing that we managed to help

and feed 50 socially endangered families. As we are especially proud to call ourselves the representatives of a Service above self idea, with the great enthusiasm, Rotaract Club Podgorica and Rotaract Club Budva will keep providing all the necessary help and assistance to its community, country and the whole region.

Poland ‘Friendship Tree Project’ is an international project initiated by Sirari Rotaract Club in Bolivia. The main purpose of this is to encourage as many Rotaract Clubs as possible to plant their own trees in their cities. It is also to connect people all around the world and learn something about Rotaract’s activity. According to this, we – as representatives of Bydgoszcz Rotaract Club - have already joined this idea and planted our own rowan. We had a lot of fun! The tree is located near the cementary, on the Cechowa Street. We hope that our little tree will grow quickly and remain a symbol of international friendship. Fingers crossed!

Portugal Carnival Night

with Rotaract Club Torres Vedras The 25th of february was marked not only in the 1960s District but also for all Rotaract Portugal as a moment of fellowship, friendship and revelry. In the middle of the Carnival of Torres Vedras, the club received all those who wanted to join them to celebrate the largest, phenomenal and more Portuguese Carnival in the country. In addition to the two hosts (Rotaract and Interact of Torres Vedras) the Rotaract clubs of Odivelas, Lisboa-Norte, Santarém, Paredes and Póvoa do Varzim (district 1970) and three foreign clubs, Westminster (United Kingdom), Bielefeld (Germany) and São Paulo (Brazil) were present. The various participants were able to experience this peculiar and characteristic festivity: tour the parades, visit the palace of the Real Confraria of the Carnival of Torres, witness the life and energy of music venues, enjoyed traditional beverages like “the Cup”, the sandwich of steak and egg or the sandwich of boiled beef. Yes, Torres Vedras is not just Bean Cakes! This was an unforgettable evening and to the organization was a challenge that became a success and it’s something to repeat in 2018, because life is 2 days, Carnival is 3 and in Torres are 6!

Christmas Solidarity Concert Rotaract Club Coimbra

Last December, as they’ve been doing for the past couple of years, Rotaract Club Coimbra organized their Christmas Solidarity Concert, whose profits reverted for a longtime friend association: Instituto Universitário Justiça e Paz. In an academic city par excellence, this association’s Solidarity Found supports, on a daily bases, college students with economic difficulties in the pursuit of their studies. Alerting and mobilizing the academic community and the general population for this problem, it depends equality of opportunity in access and academic success and aims to prevent school dropout. That being said, on December 2nd of 2016, hundreds of people gathered at Sé Velha, to listen to Orquesta da Tuna Académica da Universidade de Coimbra, Coro Misto da Universidade de Coimbra and Orfeon Académico de Coimbra, a project they hope to host again in the years to come.

The Rotaract Forest

Portugal National Project

Last year, the two Portuguese districts came together to a commun project to reforest a burned area devastated by the summer fires. Back there, we collected more than 4.000 Eur by selling tickets for a music festival, and now, after a lot of meetings with national responsables, it was time to plant 1.500 trees in 2 hectares in the district of Castelo Branco.

To celebrate Rotaract Week, we gathered more than 80 rotaractors, interactors and friends, and spent the day planting trees! Now, if you need to be closer to the Mother Nature, you have a place to go: The Rotaract Forest.

Romania RotarART 4x4

Rotaract Bucureşti Triumph Rotaract Cluj-Napoca Rotaract Iaşi Curtea Domnească Rotaract Timişoara United through 4 Arts 4 arts, 4 cities, 4 seasons, 4 years, 16 fascinating shows, 16 extremely talented artists, 16 teambuilding events, 16 chances to widen our perspectives, countless unforgettable moments. A dream team of Rotaractors and Rotarians from 4 of the cultural and academic hubs of Romania – Bucureşti, Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi and Timişoara decided in 2012 to create a network of young artists in order to promote cultural values in each community. The plan: to find, for 4 years, 4 artists from 4 different categories – music, visual arts, literature and performing arts, from each of the 4 cities and to organise 4 events during the year – events in which the artists were introduced to the public and in which funds were raised for their scholarships.

Social innovation and entrepreneurship for the development of the community Social Innovators Programme (SIP) is an educational programme promoting innovation and entrepreneurship for young people, organized by Rotaract Bucharest founded by the Erasmus + Programme and in collaboration with other two international organizations: Ústav Sociálních Inovací, o.p.s. (Institute of Social Innovation, p.b.o. – public benefit organization) from the Czech Republic and EDInet (The European Development Innovation Network) from Scotland. The purpose of the Social Innovators Programme (SIP) is to promote sustainable social entrepreneurship & social innovation among young people (aged 18-30) in Eastern Europe by training them and encouraging them to implement innovative solutions to social problems in their countries. The project enables 120 young people to develop the confidence, resilience & business skills necessary to be a successful entrepreneur & the vision, values & ethics needed to set up a social enterprise. As part of the training experience, 20 participants have been chosen to participate in a Study Visit in Edinburgh, Scotland, to learn and get inspired from the local social businesses. The participants were selected based on the social business plans they have developed for their communities. Rotaract Bucharest, Romania, organized three series of 6 days of workshops between September and November 2016, developing the following subjects: social innovation, marketing, finance and administration of social projects, pitching and public speaking, communication and leadership.

The Powdered Milk for Babies Campaign This project was initiated by two Rotaract members, Alexandra Luchin from Rotaract Club Timișoara Ripensis and Alexandru Galea from Rotaract Club Timișoara Cetate. The goal was to create a painting that included 32 portraits of men and women of different ethnicities from across the globe. The reason for this came out from the need to make awareness regarding the rising number of racist actions in the last years, as well as teaching our little colleagues from RotaKids what equality between humans means, no matter the religion, gender or color. With the help of the two clubs, a delicate direction was selected for the money, helping the shelters, orphanages and disadvantaged families from the local community through the purchase of powdered milk necessary for their babies. The painting was bought for 2800 euro , and another 120 euro were donated anonymously.

The Charity Ball „High Hopes” Fifth Edition The Charity Ball „High Hopes” Fifth Edition, organized by Rotaract Club Piatra Neamt was a real success. The event reached its fundraising goal of further equipping with sports equipment the gym from the School Center for Inclusive Education “Alexandru Rosca” Piatra Neamt. The big night of the Prom was truly magical and vibrated with the atmosphere of the Christmas holidays, sprinkled by the children’s performances that touched our hearts with smiles and good vibes. The children of the Alexander Rosca Center delighted us with artistic moments such as a cheerleaders show, a play and a carols concert.

“Piateczka” Clinch yo

Charity today does not lag behind the rushing speed of life: developing all spheres of society, people find new interesting ways of social assistance. Organizing a successful fundraising event is now the number one skill for any social project. Our main goal is to interest people, to attract their attention and create the desire to help. In many ways, charity is pure creativity. Not having strict limitations, sometimes it takes quite bizarre forms.

Gifts from Santa, dance in different styles, and the best part which was the fact that we are able to offer one full year of daily speech therapy activities for 3 children suffering of Down Syndrome. The difference is huge between a person with the Down Syndrome who is not involved into speech therapy and one who is, so these activities will help them develop, lead a life closer to normality and hopefully enjoy the beauties of this world.

For several months the Rotaract club “Krasnoyarsk-Yenisei” has been collecting money, offering people ... to clinch nails. Artem Martynov, one of our most experienced members in the end of 2016 entered the Open World Program where he peeked an unpretentious bar game called Hammerschlagen. Participants take turns clinching the nails into the log - usual nails in the usual log. However they turn the hammer with a sharp side. At first it seems that the game is too simple, but after the first miss, confidence is a bit dispelled and the excitement arises. One move - one attempt

pleasant impression of the game. For the second time, the “Piateczka” was held at the annual PETS in Omsk. The third time the tournament took place in Krasnoyarsk and all the tickets were sold out at a fast clip. Happy winners get give gifts from our partners. Thanks to the collected money we were able to help children from the social rehabilitation center by providing them with anti-cold medications they badly needed during the flu epidemic. and two scenarios: either this blow becomes victorious, or the participant bends his nail. This game has long historical roots. Someone thinks that it appeared in Germany, someone gives authorship to Poland, America and Kalmykia. We chose the Polish name “Piateczka”. In terms of fundraising, the main value of the game is in its simplicity. And that is how we captured a new audience: young people (20-30 years) are glad to play “Piateczka” for a nominal fee on a Saturday evening. Since the beginning of the year, the Rotaract Krasnoyarsk-Yenisei has carried out the “Piateczka” tournament three times. The first time it was held as part of the Siberian Trip with our foreign guests. The Russian guy became the winner of the championship, but our guests had a

We want to get out a simple and important message: it is easy to help! It doesn’t require huge money and work. Just look around and you will find your unique idea! Author of the article: Anastasia Vaklycheva, Secretary of Rotaract club “Krasnoyarsk-Yenisei” 2016-2017

Spain DISTRICT 2202

On the note of Rotaractors and Rotarians being part of a greater family, we have at least three examples.

Dear fellow European Rotaractors, here’s an update of our district’s work up until now: The first one is from We are always very proud to see new clubs our strongest club emerging in our district. Our newest club in the district, Club on board, Rotaract Club Tarragona are very Rotaract del Vallès, active! They joined Rotaract Club Gaudi- which has a great relationship with all its Mediterrania in the organization of the sponsor clubs. They are a group of extremely annual “calçotada” (a very Catalan tradition of hard working and motivated rotaractors. This eating long onions). Other rotaractors from time they helped get more Polio vaccines by Barcelona took part in the celebration, which participating in an event of one of the sponsor involved a lot of food, which was not hard for clubs RC Sant Cugat. Good job! them! :)

The second one is from the amazing celebration They have understood very quickly what of the Chinese New Year we participated Rotaract fellowship means and they organized organized partially by the new Rotary Club a barbeque last April 2nd to let people know Barcelona Amistad Chino Catalana (ChineseCatalan Friendship). Xinnian Kuaile! about Rotaract in a very friendly way. Finally, the X Rotarian Assembly of our district was held in Zaragoza March 31st-April 2nd. We were invited to talk in front of the attendees about Rotaract. We took the chance to explain the way we see things as active young people and express our wish to work together to create great things.

On the side of our districts work, we are organizing the annual project called “KILO” through which we take on the challenge of collecting as much food as possible in one whole day through out the territory- in Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and, this year we have one of the newest clubs, San Sebastián joining us in the quest! Wish us the best of luck! We’ll be posting pictures and the final amount collected on our Facebook page :)

MED Love: Magic Kings present giveaway in District 2202! Last January 5th, as traditional in Spain, the 3 Magic Kings came to spread out lots of presents among all the Spanish children. And Rotaract Club Del Vallès, District 2202, decided to help them out! They gave collected presents, which were mainly given by their sponsor Rotary Club, the Rotary Club del Vallès, and distributed them among almost 35 children from 16 families who were not able to buy them for the Kings night. The team spent 2 days packing the toys and, with last-minute donations they were able to buy more books and toys.

MED MDIO Awareness in Ryla in Spain! A number of Rotary Ex-Exchange students (Rotex) and many actual members of the clubs included in the District 2203 were congregated in a RYLA organised by the district in Cartagena, Murcia, where our Med MDIO Country Representative for Spain 2016/17 Salva Amorós took the opportunity to give a presentation about the Med MDIO, its projects and international events. The presentation was held on Saturday, the 18th of November 2016. Its target was to inform about the the plans and goals of the Med MDIO for the Rotarian year 2016/2017 as well as to show all the cultural benefits and opportunities that Med MDIO offers to its members. Plenty details about the Mediterranean MDIO were discussed among the participants of this meeting. Moreover, an important aim of this presentation was to enhance the cooperation and participation of the Spanish Rotaract Clubs in the Med MDIO project initiatives, Mediterranean Rotaract Conferences like the M2R Cyprus and the Medicon 2017 Croatia and to

encourage them to compete for the Med MDIO Awards 2016/17. Salva introduced the Med MDIO along with other speakers in different workshops where all the attendees had the chance to increase their creativity and imagination from a Marketing Director; improve their public talking skills helped by the Spanish Champion of Competition Debate, and get to know which steps to follow in order to create a new business or start up. This presentation has awaken the Mediterranean spirit in all the current members and encouraged Rotex to become new members of clubs in their regions!

Rotaract Club Barcelona ’92 Dear fellow Rotaractors, You have most probably met our amazing club members in the Rotaract European events. We are sure they have told you a lot about out club and our projects. So now we want to update you on what our club has been doing since the REM Bratislava. Our Rotaract Club Barcelona ’92 was only established in 2016, even though many of our members already have years of experience in Rotaract. We are all eager to carry out lots of projects together with our new Rotary sponsor club RC Barcelona ‘92 as well as to continue projects inspired from our old clubs. We prepare and distribute food for by now almost 250 homeless people once every two weeks in our most important ongoing and continuously growing project “Dinners That Matter”. Two of our members take care of the finances and coordination of the project, but everybody in the club participates. We can count on many collaborators, such as Rotarians and external volunteers which learn more about what we do as a club while participating which also helps to increase our membership numbers. This year the project has started to also offer “Solidary Dentistry”. Thanks to Dr. Alistair Gallagher and our member and also dentist Dr. Ana Cecilia Lasosè we offer free of charge dental treatments to 6-8 people in vulnerable situations once a month. Club members give classes on dental care and help with the administration. Our club participates much in the District 2202 Project “Gambasse”, which is a village in Guinea-Bissau, where we perform

different projects in collaboration with the local ONG SILO. With the International Charity Autumn Ball in Barcelona our club has already collected much money to go towards actions. In January, one of our members was able to visit Gambasse to see the progress and initiate new projects. These include the installation of solar panels in the medical dispensary and school and the creation of a school garden where students can grow and later eat their own vegetables. Thanks to the solar panels, medical emergencies can now be attended at after dark and night school will soon start again. On April 23 is Sant Jordi, the Catalan Valentines day, when we will sell roses and books together with SILO and on June 3 we organize a day on the beach full of activities which will pay for several scholarships for secondary school education for children in and around Gambasse. Recently, we had the opportunity to get to know our Mediterranean neighbors better. Through the MED-MDIO we teamed up with RAC El Tahrir (D-2451) and RAC Tunis Golfe (D-9010) for MED Dinner: Mediterranean Culinary Experience.

Each club provided a recipe for a traditional main meal and a dessert from their country together with some background information. We exchanged this information and each club prepared a dish from another country. We prepared and Egyptian Fattah and a Bouza from Tunisia. We had a lot of fun and we are planning on repeating again soon!

Besides organizing projects, our members also numerously participate in the conferences and assemblies organized by Rotaract and Rotary in order to acquire more knowledge and experience and to get to know members of different clubs better. We have participated at REM Athens and Bratislava and will also be present at the EUCO in Warsaw. At the district level, we have attended the Rotary assembly, a RYLA titled “Forging the Future – Today” and another RYLA about the Water. We have also attended several conferences and events organized by the Rotary clubs of Barcelona. We recently started organizing dinnermeetings with all members and guests of the club once per month to change the dynamic of the ordinary meetings. Then we make sure to keep up to date with what is going on with all of us: work, personal life, the greatest thing that has happened to us that month and it is a great way to connect with members and guests. On the same lines, we will soon spend a weekend at the Monastery of Sigena, where

we will help the sisters with manual labor that are not able to perform by themselves.

This year we want to work together with the Interact Club ASB Barcelona ‘92 on a new project called “Chalk for Peace”, where we will be drawing a graphic representation of what peace means to each one of us, with chalk. This will help create a culture of peace through art. We are very proud to announce that the Barcelona ’92 family has grown. Until now there was the Rotary Club Barcelona ’92, the Rotaract Club Barcelona ’92 and the Interact Club ASB-Barcelona ’92. This year, the Rotakids ASB-Barcelona ’92 was constituted and we are very happy with the initiative of these young leaders.

Between the dates April 7, 2016 and April 7, 2017 has been decided to be the year of diabetes by World’s Health Organization as all years are decided to have a theme of global health problem.According to the WHO, diabetes illness is gradually increasing and today, one of every 11 or 12 people is diabetic and that 50% of those who have diabetes are undiagnosed. The Project has been conducted by 33 Rotaract Clubs, headed by Rotaract Club of Ankara. The aim was to create awareness among society about diabetes by spot test for blood glucose. The test was done by sponsor medical centers and sponsored equipment. We took action to help detect people with undiagnosed diabetes and ensure early diagnosis and treatment of diabetes complications by orienting them to the nearest medical center through our volunteer doctors. With the project “Beat Diabetes Before It Beats You”, approximately 20.000 people were reached through the website and social media tools. Besides the informed/tested 10.000 people between ages 14 - 65 among society, 500 Rotaractors worked for this Project, learned Diabetes in detail and contributed to their self-improvement. ROTARACT CLUB OF TOPHANE

Our project consists of various levels all of which aim to serve those in need in the field of education. While the first level of the project was for students at a state high school to help them become more effective learners, the second level was designed as a teacher training. In the third level of the project, we designed and set up a foreign language library for the same state high school. As there was a lack of foreign language resources in the school, we donated them English and German resources varying from course books to self-study books, including both conventional and digital resources. It was with great enthusiasm that we carried and placed the books in the library and handed them in to the students and teachers there.

If you read the magazine until this point,

THANK YOU. This third issue is the final step of the hard work of an entire year, hours spent on our laptops and lots (really, A LOT) of coffee. Being part of this magazine team has been an amazing adventure that gave us the chance to improve our journalistic and design skills, but also to better know each other and become friends. E.R.I.C. is a great family and we would love to thank all those who collaborated with this magazine and the two previous issues: from clubs to districts, to our colleagues, all the country representative of Europe that patiently collected, uploaded and organised the articles (check the next pages to see who they are). And thank you to all of you, that read this magazine and that kept inspiring us with all the amazing projects you realised throughout the year, the ones that we collected here on the magazine - and even those for which there was not enough space. Yours in Rotaract,

the Magazine Team
