Something About me I currently live, study, work & intern in the wonderful New York City. I grew up just outside NYC in a quaint village known for being ‘one square smile’ called Sea Cliff, with my Colombian American family. My Colombian roots have always had an impact in my life and even so today. Spanglish was my first language, perfecting the more proper English and Spanish short after, I learned French as well after various visits to study, work and learn in France and Switzerland. Some Italian and Mandarin are also in the mix. I am a Spring 2013 BBA candidate for a diploma in Strategic Design & Management from the school of design studies at Parsons the New School for Design. I chose Parsons & this program because I loved being able to combine a creative field with a field in business. Additionally, I always dreamed of going to art school in Paris, so I studied for a semester at École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle or ENSCI les Ateliers in Paris where I focused on industrial design & interface design. I pay very close attention to detail, I am very emotional and put all my efforts into getting the job done and getting the job done well. Over my studies at Parsons I have learned to work collaboratively in groups. I have also learned programs such as Microsoft office and the Adobe Creative Suite to full capacity, as well as other programs like SPSS, and Fashion GPS. My family and friends mean the world to me, I love sparking up a conversation with strangers, making new friends, trying new food (I am also quite the food enthusiast) and I adore traveling and exploring new places. I am always ready to try something new. Now, to explore some of my work.

Task: Changing a system in the Greater New York City area Our approach: Public Restrooms Team: Andrea Pardo Angela Neal Allison Harper Plan of attack: To create a system of social networking that is self sustained by the users between the web-site, mobile site, Twitter & Facebook. A network of people that would rate and discuss the bathrooms, and generate conversation, data and a map for future users to use on our iphone ipad application. End Goal: To improve the system of public restrooms as well as generate attention to the cleanliness and sanitary components of restrooms by pushing the social norms of what people generally do and do not talk about.

We began the design process by identifying the key issues with public restorroms and their availability to people by addressing the dimensions that were of the most importance and impact to the restroom userss. Proximity vs. reliability Cleanliness vs. available Public restroom vs. privately owned Theses images on both pages of the spread are of my notebook that recorded all of the meetings we had as a group and individual ‘The Holy Grail of the Loo’ if you will. All of the advancements in design and in innovation to G2PNYC were recorded here.

G2P NYC; The Process Research & Development

In the process of development of our website, application and business develpment.


Finalyzing logistics and design aspects before implementation of our G2PNYC application as well as our social media and web-site.

With our iconic language and system of identification, we created a wireframe and then implemented the design into our websitemobile site.

Our data was generated by the users and their interactions with G2PNYC. When the user would give us a story of the restroom the location of the sata would be archived into a map that future users could later see.

The data from our Bathroom Diaries was created from stories or experiences useres had. The data was also catalogued by Facebook, Twitter & our website.

Our gallery also offered another way for users to share their bathroom experiences so people could directly see the circumstances and have visuals for the stories shared in the Bathroom Diary.

Despite already creating www.G2PNYC.com, we decided to also implement the social media of Facebook and Twitter as a means to gather more followers, a way to gather more data and insights provided by these sites, and as well as another further reach to our project which we received wonderful response and feedback from.

We developed the idea for a goodie bag as a take away or a reminder for the user of the experience of G2PNYC. We wanted users to have a tangible expereince, this way they could have another form in which to contribute to the G2PNYC network.

The final G2PNYC goodie bag which included sticker to place in bathrooms that users had visited and written about, a condom booklet, informatino sheets about G2PNYC as business cards.

Task: Creating an Ad campaign for Cliff Notes Approach: better targeting the audience of 11-19 year olds. Plan of Attack: in order to re-vamp their image as a resource of clarity for the 21st century. End Goal: To create a campaign that would intice the readers. Offer a sense of comprehension and entertainment through the look of confusions that is easily relatable.

Bayard Press: Espace Bayard A childrens social netwrk platform in France

Today, children have more facility in using a tablet or a tactile screen than they do in using a book.

My goal was to create a social network platform for children ages 4-12.


A space or an ‘Espace’ for children to play games, read books and learn to share and communicate with other children of their age group.

The discovery of new curated content + learning + a protected space = A social networking educational system for kids.

I then used the data I made into an infographic and created an animated infographic to the soundtrack of Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP Non Parlo Americano.

In Brief: These are screen shots of my first annimation. The task was to create an alternative entrance to a favorite Hollywood film. Upon chosing The Devil Wears Prada, I included clips from my own footage of NYC as well as Paris Haute Couture Fashion week and my own hand drawn images turned digital to tell a short story and summary of the film through graphics.

In Brief: The Time I Kicked Myself Unconscious is a short story based on a personal life experience of mine from when I was on the Gymnastics team in grade school and in an attempt to try a new trick in an unmastered area under the supervision of my coach, I failed at the task and kicked myself unconscious. All text is my own from my personal story, the graphics are hand-drawn and turned digital edited in sync with “Flight of the Bumblebee� written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
