Message to Parents and Students

TO THE PARENTS

The Course Catalog is published to assist parents/guardians and their high school students in educational planning and course selection. Counselors advise students and families on course selection, grade interpretation, college admission requirements, and graduation requirements. The purpose of this handbook is to offer a comprehensive source of information about Sequoia High School course potential pathways so that families can make informed choices.

Please use the Program Planning Handbook as a reference and a tool to help your student plan their four years of high school and select the courses they wish to take each year. Counselors meet with all students individually throughout the spring semester, so it will be helpful if students are prepared to discuss their choices. The meetings usually begin in mid-late January.

TO THE STUDENTS

At Sequoia High School, it is our intention to prepare you for your post-secondary plans. Students are encouraged to pursue an appropriately rigorous academic pathway while maintaining balance. We also want you to have the opportunity to develop your passions and interests. This handbook can help you make appropriate course selections and create a four year plan of what courses you wish to take in high school. Use this handbook as a reference and contact your counselor if you have questions.
