WELCOME Welcome to the 5th issue of the Myelec Electrical Opportunities magazine, June - September. We are fast approaching the end of the financial year and we feel that the WA economy is improving. The market is showing positive signs and I am sure this will reflect on our industry in the coming months. We have continued to be actively involved with our clients and strive to provide them with new opportunities to expand and diversify their businesses, ie Solar, Security etc. Our Supplier of the Month promotions, displayed within our branches, are delivering great feedback and are giving our customers the ability to see new product innovations, ideas and what is

Myelec have open two new branches, bringing our network to seven, and look forward to offering even greater service to our existing and new clients – the two new branches are located at Cockburn and Joondalup, featured on page 15. Shayne Byass has joined us and takes on the Canning Vale Branch Managers role. Where do you see the industry has changed in the last 5 years and where do you see it heading in the next 5 years? The biggest change in the industry I have noticed would be the change in available technology. In the last five years we have seen the introduction and integration of solar power, smart home technology and wiring, power saving lights within the home. Australia as a whole is making steps towards renewable energy and more affordable and adaptable Smart Homes.
LJM ELECTRICAL – LUKE MUCCIARONE How did you start out in the electrical industry? At 15 I knew I wanted to gain a trade and go to TAFE. I had always intended to become a Boiler Maker , however, it wasn’t until I did a work placement in year 10 that I ever considered becoming an electrician. I started my apprenticeship working for a local Perth Hills electrician. What work does your company mainly specialize in? LJM Electrical do everything from Electrical, Communications and Air Conditioning across all sectors Domestic, Industrial and Commercial. We have been doing more in recent months of the installation of generator changeover switches.
What industry training do you think would benefit you and your business? Training in solar panel instillation and the use of battery storage for solar power. This is something that more and more people are looking for as the price of electricity and living cost in general rise. What do you enjoy most about being an Electrician? I love the fact that every day you experience something different, Every job you go to has some aspect that challenges you or makes you think outside the box to find the best solution. I also like the social side of the job, everyday you meet someone new. What are your interests and passions outside of work? I love to fish, four-wheel drive, camp and go boating. Our country is such an amazing place with so much to offer in terms of its remoteness and beauty. I love escaping the day to day life and just explore the country we live in.
