Albany Convict Gaol and Patrick Taylor Cottage Now fully restored, the Gaol is a complex of men’s cell blocks and some warders’ quarters. It was built in 1852 for imperial convicts shipped to WA as artisans and skilled labourers. Patrick Taylor Cottage is the oldest surviving dwelling in Western Australia, having been built in 1832 by the Morley Brothers.

Museum of the Great Southern and Brig Amity The Museum shares the stories of the Menang Noongar people as well as the region’s unique natural landscape, flora and fauna. National Anzac Centre and Princess Royal Fortress The National Anzac Centre is located within the grounds of the heritage listed Princess Royal Fortress, one of only two pre-federation fortresses built to protect intercontinental trade routes. The award-winning National Anzac Centre overlooks the harbour from which more than 41,000 men and woman departed Australia. Assume the identity of an actual service man or woman and follow their experience of the Great War.
Binalup / Middleton Beach The Menang name for Middleton Beach is Binalup, meaning ‘morning light’. Binalup / Middleton Beach is popular for its safe swimming, picnicking and snorkelling.
